WARRIORS: SPvP/WvW - What are you running?
This is what I’m currently running. I’m in ruby.

I see what you did there
Now back on topic: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Warrior_-_GS/Hammer <- this is still the best warrior build. You can swtich out marauder with zerker cause hp is just a crutch for bad players.
running a dragonhunter, the win rate is through the roof
and a burnzerk(nike’s buid) in WvW, there was a zerg rushing us today and even tho we got wiped, i had gotten 1120 rank exp from kills, just by spamming fire aoes, dem 2-3k ticks on every enemy are OP as hell in zergs

gs axe/shield with zerker amulet
my other fav classes are scrapper and rev, and its so painful knowing how much better they are than warrior

no but seriously, in it’s current state, playing warrior in ranked feels like mocking your team and giving the enemy team a free win and i don’t agree with that. sure, i screw around a lot with war in unranked, but that’s a different story

I solo queued into 4 other warriors on my team 1 pip away from diamond and lost all of my pips that game.
If you’re running warrior in ranked you deserve the point loss.

I ran this is some ranked while I was on Emerald and Sapphire
Now I just play Rev in Ranked. I’m at Ruby, but thinking of trying more classes

That’s what I run currently. Still a little rough (runes, Gs sigils), but I’ve gone through quite a few builds and this one is working quite well.
Still have no idea how people can do wvsw with axe/shield. With sword, my mobility allows me to get away from almost every enemy and bad situation. Great for roaming. i really like the marauder greatsword. You get like 666 stats total vs around 600 from just zerker. It’s an extra 1000 vitality, which is always useful. Unless you are going glass cannon (full zerker), I don’t see why you wouldn’t pick up marauder.
Plenty of damage and tank with this build. Sustain not so much, so end things as fast as possible like always….or run away. Running away counts as sustain I think…OoC regenftw

My build has fluctuated somewhat, quite recently. But it still has the same concept.
Sword/Warhorn and then either Rifle or Longbow.
The concept is simply, I’ll use sword and warhorn to be one of the fastest people on the map, and then I’ll do most of my fighting with my ranged weapon. When I knock them before half health, then I swap to the sword, and hit them with final thrust, and finish them off from there.
Previously I was running Vipers, with the longbow, which had another advantage. I could blast plenty of might with the firefield, and then leap in, to keep on applying more burning to my target. Then, I’d land final thrust, and hack at him a few more times until he bled and burnt out.
Right now though, I’ve been finding that the pressure of the longbow isn’t doing it for me, so I swapped over to the rifle to be able to land some more burst hits. I’m currently running marauders, but I think I’ll likely try out zerkers with it as well. So, it’s very much so a work in progress, but here’s what I currently have.
I’m running a shouty build for a couple of reasons. 1: Rune of the Trooper is a pretty tanky set, which is nice if you’re running a fairly fragile amulet. 2: If I want my warhorn traited (which I do for movement speed) then the best grandmaster available to me is the shout one.
So, yeah. Work in progress, but it’s been working fairly well for me, including in most 1v1 situations. I can get across the map pretty fast with it, and keep points flipping. It might not be the best build for taking on someone 1v1, but it’s still working out reasonably well for me. Most fights that I lose were at least close.

I’ve decided to fully commit myself to doing one thing well, killing bunkers.
You HAVE to come into the fight a bit late and avoid being targeted. The rotation is:
(Start in GS)
1. Head Butt, using Berserker Stance and Signet of Might to give you the best chance to hit.
2. Swap to Rifle, Go Berserk.
3. Gun Flame
4. Rifle Butt
5. Volley
6. Gun Flame
Not much lives through that. You’ll be unblockable, immune to conditions, and have pulsing Stability. I’ll be honest, I haven’t been playing that much but I WILL say that Bunker Chronos, Dragon Hunters, Revs, and anyone else dependent on blocks can be killed really quickly if you’re being supported properly. I use Defiant Stance just because once things get going you’ll probably be targeted and you’re so glassy that Heal Sig isn’t that great.

Still running BurrTheKing’s Skullcracker build for sPvP:
http://intothemists.com/guides/6344-mighty_skull_crack
It can still surprise some of the meta builds floating around out there, if the enemy isn’t very good. I’ve had decent success against some Reaper and Dragonhunter builds. Revenants go down pretty fast if they don’t know what they’re doing, or they aren’t running Herald. Chronos and Tempests are still pretty difficult though.
Of course, if the enemy is playing meta properly, you will encounter the limits of Warrior no matter which build you run.
For WvW, yolo Gunflame is the way to go.
Bump. If it’s of any inclination to you; I just recently got to Diamond with the build I had posted above. Good luck to ya!

I too am dedicated to bunker busting.
I started where you’re at, but I’ve moved on to str, arms, berserker. As of tonight I’m further tweaking out the amulet and rune. I have a higher focus on ranged assault with gunflame, leaving GS for clutch aoe moments or picking off anyone wandering to the outskirts of a fight.
Has 100% more unblockable uptime, 100% crit chance on rifle (98% on GS or whatever), and Furious provides proficient adrenaline regen to keep those gunflames pumping out upon CD. Overcoming no Fast Hands is simply a matter of discipline, ironically XD
No Piercing is merely a matter of positioning.
Since WvW is dying, I have been playing PvP unranked and this is what im running
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vJAQJARSjMdQnHW2BehAnIG2CqsCi6OA/7AI01Yo0HAA-TpxHABffBAA4IAcdZAxeAAhv/gAHCAA
the key is to try to break stun as soon as you get the chance with SiO
(+3536 health and +1000 defense)
sometimes youre blessed with shrug it off and break stun with it too
bulls charged with hammer>swap to gs>hb, interrupt or escape
priority to use EP as a breakstun between 35%-50% health

Not sure if you have HoT or not, but it might provide a slight upgrade for your build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vJAQJARSnMdAlkildAehAEliltAD5vFACdvb2O7oVJGU6GAA-TpxHABXXGI89HE4QA89kittenjAgYPAAA
Slightly worse condi management, but more damage, stun breaks, and cc. For more survivability, you could take Dead or Alive over Blood Reaction, which would give you more healing than your shouts currently give you and you’d still do more damage, I think.
That said, I’m glad I’m not the only one still playing base warrior….

Hey Choppy, hows it going
yeah i have HoT but i dont like berserker, i understand it gives more damage but some sustains is more appreciated especially since war barely has any now
I’m running:
Zerk Amulet
Strength/Discipline/Defense.
Forceful Greatsword, Defy Pain, Shield Master, Spiked armor, zerker’s power.
Triple Stances. Healing Signet.
Axe/Shield, GS.
Strength Runes
Hydromancy, battle on Axe/SH. Fire, Battle on GS.
Strategy: get close. Swap every 5 seconds. watch HP for losing tide on swap to GS.
if(losing)
runaway();
if(winning)
fight_with_GS();
once Swap CD is up, swap while near opponent for chill proc and ruin defensive skill cooldowns while you shield bash/evisc. If opponent is not dead, spin for vulnerability and autoattack while zerker power proc is up.
return to start.
If opponent is ranged, reflect the burst that can be reflected and get close by crippling with axe throw/ advancing with GS 3. save all bursts for < 100 range. If [YOU CAN NOT ADVANCE], run away.
Stances should be applied as needed. Common sense.

I value the piercing too much to lose it. After downing someone you can line up on anybody reviving them and not only interrupt them the possibility kill them too and keep the other guy down. Downed cleave is one of our few strengths and I want to maximize it.
@Syde Have you tried Rousing Resilience and Eternal Champion? With that setup you’ll find yourself with a bit more sustain. I keep going back and forth on Heightened Focus and Burst Mastery, both are good. Good job on using Sigil of Speed though.

@BurrTheKing: The only time I fine myself lacking sustain is during team fights. 1 versus 1 scenarios usually fall in my favor, but I get targeted hard during team fights so a 1k heal isn’t gonna help any.

you can try my build work nice in WvW (can work too in PvP) with the food Furious Sharpening Stone ( can be crafted only )
If u need stab with this build u can use “Eternal Champion” in Berserker Trait and if u 1v1 a condi player just remplace your endure pain with Signet of stamina
The stats are awesome

The heal got upped but the real strength of the trait, it’s the 1,000 toughness that makes a surprisingly big difference.

Has near 100% fury uptime without ever using arcing slice, ridiculous quickness uptime, good amount of stuns and stupid high crit dmg. It IS glassy though, but not full yolo, take strength if you want full yolo; nevertheless, and it’s a major rushdown build, if the initial rushdown burst doesn’t kill them or nearly kill them you better start thinking about disengaging for a while.
Highest burst combos are:
Starting with axe+shield: Headbutt→outrage (to break self-stun)→berserker mode, decapitate→swap to GS (hydro + leeching will hit~3k dmg+chill)→100b under quickness→arc divider→whirlwind. You can hit everything up to and including arc divider while they’re still stunned from headbutt with only the initial quickness from popping berserker mode if you have decent ping.
If starting in GS the combo goes as follows:
Headbutt→outrage→arc divider→100b→whirlwind→swap to axe+shield AS SOON AS YOU GET BEHIND THEM WITH WW→decapitate→mash that axe auto or shield bash them for more axe auto dps.
The dmg output from those is kittened and you can it VERY fast. A thing you absolutely need to do though is bait dodges with axe autos so they can’t evade the stuns as easily. It suffers vs some of the bunkers (mainly tempest and chrono) but if you can catch tempests before they stack the kittened prot duration you can shred them without too much trouble.
Are there any decent core warrior builds for wvw? Apart from the classic gs build, I have tried many things. Even tried a lb burn-sword sword bleed build today ( it was meeh).

Just go to diamond with this, only soloQ.
