WVW: Soldiers vs. 30% Critch/ Celestial
Heyho fellow WVW Warriors/ Hammer-Psychopaths,
I am currently tweaking my Hammer+Shout WVW Build
After seeing a youtube video of Ogremaster Thong about his build i came to the conclusion that I have to get new gear:
Currently I am running full soldier’s armor+ cavalier trinkents+Valkyrie’s Weapons and 50% on stunned foes
However in the vid Thong uses 3 celestial trinkets (2earring+1 ring) to support his shouter build
A Commander I have asked recently gave me the tip to have full soldier’s trinkets+armor and Berserker Weapons
And another Guide says that you need at least 30% crit and rest in soldier’s
SO: what is the best solution for non GvG Hammer WVW Warrior who loves to be part of public zerging?
thanks for your time

If you are frontline, damage is not your main concern, so Soldiers are pretty acceptable.
25 charracters
30% Critchance if you want 100% crit chance when enemy is stunned (cause Fury for you should be easy to maintain as a warrior).
You could probably do well with All Valk/Cav gear though to maximize CritDMG. 100% Crit chance with a 100% CritDMG is pretty beasty. Run a few Celestial if you want to have a bit of Healing power, Celestial gives overall more stats, but you have stats you don’t use much like ConD.

THIS or if you dont have ascended trinkets go for a mixed soldier set with exotic jewels of ruby on each.
btw make yourself a favor and dont follow ogres build, he has at least 3 major mistakes on it. Just check some of the templates in this forum and you will find them.

Full pvt for front line engagements. You can buy it all with badges and get the trinkets from temples with karma. Get VPT jewels on TP.
Now if you want to do more damage I suggest full Knight armor with “fill in the blank” power runes, cavalier trinkets w/ berserker jewels and berserker weapons. A little less survivability but more damage overall. x.×.30.30.x trait setup is standard in most cases. Condi cleanse with warhorn is a must , other traits you can swap as you please.
Here is the knight build as I use it.

Edit: you can also swap 10pts from arms into strength for Great Fortitude (5% power as vitality) if you want a little more buff and power. If you ask me as well, +50% crit on stun is overrated in zerg play. We have 3 other hammer skills that do more damage and the majority of your enemy’s group is going to have stability active anyway. Just my opinion. Happy hunting.
