Hello, fellow warriors!
This is my first time on the forums, so I apologize if I am all over the place. I am posting here because I am wanting advice on my current build on my warrior. A big factor is that I enjoy the PvE content the most in this game, so I am not trying to follow the meta or anything. I know some people will say PvE doesn’t matter, but I like to be effective in dungeons and events with small groups.

Currently I am running on soldier stats (main power, toughness, vitality) for armor/weapons and jewelry, all exotic. I am not very rich in the game, so I use Superior Runes of The Brawler.I use sword/shield and great sword. Mostly because I enjoy the skills they bring and for the looks.

My traits are: 6/0/6/2/0
+Great Fortitude, Slashing power and berserkers might
+Shield master, Cleansing Ire and Rousing Resilience
+Lung Capacity
The skill set I use is: Healing surge, FGJ, SIO, Endure pain and Signet of rage. I have 2.5k attack, 2.1k toughness/ 3k armor and ~1.5k vitality. I don’t want to make an extremely long post, so I will leave it at that. My goal is to make this a little more viable if possible, which is why I am seeking advice from warriors better than I. Any help is much appreciated!

P.S: I don’t want to move to another weapon set because I enjoy the look of my warrior very much. But as I stated I am not very rich (only 30g) so I hope any suggestions won’t break my bank!

You should checkout a previous thread where I listed the current PvE meta build.

The PvE meta for pretty much every profession is the full Berserker approach. In PvE you don’t need more than your base armor as long as you dodge and pay attention to attack animation. You should be focusing purely on maximizing damage and group utility. The only time I’d recommend gearing defensively is when you are just starting out and still learning the basics. It is best to stop using it as soon as possible or it can become a crutch later on.

I highly recommend you go and get yourself a full set of Berserker armor/weapons/trinkets. For runes you want to go with [Scholar] and sigils [Force+Night] on the Greatsword. What you use for your offset is up to personal preference. Axe/Mace is the most commonly used, but you will mainly be camping Greatsword so its not that important. Just stay away from Hammer and Shield since CC (stuns/knockdown/daze) don’t work on boss Defiance. If you feel like you want a block option bring an offhand Sword which is alot better than shield.

If you’re worried about spending alot of gold on gear you can farm CoF paths 1&2 for tokens to trade in for armor+weapons. Both paths are fast and easy so it should only take about 1-2 weeks to earn enough for a complete set. You should also net a fair amount of gold from those daily dungeon runs as well.
