youve been posting on these boards forever, I atleast know who you are. Of course, ive been here forever, but only posted on nec/mes/ele forums for the better part of 2 years

would split in pvp/pve tho.
Alköre for pvp and Nike for pve.They know what’s going on in high tier gameplay

Yeah Burr, you’re about as known as anyone on these forums (i.e. you’re one of the better known). Other people are too, but if you’re interested you should go for it.

Now, more than ever, we need a direct line of communication with the developers.

You’re a regular on the warrior forum, you know your deal, have an open mind and show proper respect to other forum participants. If you want to do it, then just go for it

About the position, ICBW but I think it’s like a point of contact to the devs. You can discuss with them and carry their opinions/questions to the community, as well as carry back the opinions/questions of the community (which implies some reading and summarizing of the points of interest discussed).

I vote for BurrTheKing as well. He knows Warrior inside and out, and he can craft a mean melee build. He always puts forth suggestions that would make Warrior better. Maybe the title “Forum Specialist” going to a reputable player like Burr will finally get the devs to take a second look at Warrior?

That’s a lot of “yeas” and no “nays” for Burr, so I hope you go for it if you’re interested. Be sure to read the requirements (must live in the US, be over 18 years old, etc).

For everyone else, we should keep expectations in check. They only appear to be looking for Wvw specialists at the moment, which I suspect is about smoothly managing the big Wvw update supposedly in the works, and the associated rumours.

I may have missed it, but I didn’t notice anything about class specialists in there and the specialists’ key point of contact will be with the Comms team. If Burr gets in there, we’ll have to be cool and not pester him if warriors don’t get the love we’d like to see or as quickly as we want.

Well, I’ve recently graduated from college with a communications degree so this would be a good learning experience. OK, I’ll look into it. Thanks for all the positive feedback!

Edit: I applied. That being said idk if they’re looking for players that are as focused as me atm.

Well it has been pretty clear by now that we wouldn’t have anything until february, so til then, Burr’s in the safe zone ;p

P.S : I wondered : why the sudden enthusiasm for this job offer that has been on for a year now ? Not mentioning the last update was three months ago and about them looking for WwW specialist.

Honestly, I suggest you apply anyway unless it really is a matter of bitterness getting in the way. It’s not as though Anet is going to say, “hey, there’s that Burr guy… we should get him and him alone”, especially when people from all over the forums will be applying.

You, Burr, and anyone else who’s interested should apply. It’ll help our chances of having some warrior representation in there, even if they aren’t specifically looking for warrior reps atm. I mean, it’s a foot in the door at least. They might even go for both, who knows.

But if you are too bitter, then I totally get giving it a pass. If they’re not interested in working on warrior anytime soon, it might just add to your bitterness, and your principle focus for a game should be fun, not frustration.

Once again, why the sudden passion for this job offer ? It’s one year old already. Just asking out of curiosity.

Anyway, as Choppy stated, I highly doubt they recruit off the public image. According to the thread, they’re looking for knowledgeable people (which seems pretty rational to me).

Not to mention the job is to recommend a good thread for a dev to read.

Too bad anything mentioned with “warrior” in it gets sent to the junk folder and just deleted anyway.
