Warrior - GreatSword / Hammer
I kinda almost only play w3 and i use GS/Hammer all the time.
this is my current build: http://tinyurl.com/c8wswfe
For pve you can change some stuf around for more damage but it still can deal a big burst.
its far from perfect but working great in wvw for me as frontline basher
SFR community site: http://www.pevepe.net/
for pvp: toughness > power > prec (knight)
pve: for dungeon its tough > healing power > vit (no armor with all 3, would be WAY to OP on guardians as theyd be basically invincible vs 3 or 4 players as opposed to currently just vs 1-2 with this)
for world pve: easy so dont really matter but id say power > prec > crit dmg
tl;dr: get a set of knights armor and jewlery, you wont be seeing any 20k+ HB, nor 15k kill shots, but works the best all around imo especially with soldier runes
Thanks, I’ll keep this information with me
I use Hammer/GS in both PvE and at times PvP using a build like this:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQJASRjcOVvJPOP4wBAkCt46oQJmSPKDt0A;ToAA1CtoyyklILbWuskZt0YgA
It prioritizes survival over dmg but is no slouch in terms of bringing a burst of pain.
In PvE You provide support and good CC but the GS allows you to have a decent amount of dmg against camps that are mostly immune to CC.
Gain adren with hammer, then use Earthshaker and switch to GS and 100b to gain the benefit of Unsuspecting Foe. If before this you used backbreaker+fierce blow you not only did good dmg but when you use 100b the target could be weakened and thus Cull The Weak will have you doing 5% more dmg to them.
You won’t be insta-gibbing but I feel the utility and support are a fair trade and even though 100b may not connect with the full combo I feel that having a weapon that can deal dmg against a target with stability is useful as well.
Old Man Burr (War), Bad Hat Ben (Engi), Manly Manny Manson (Guard)

Thank you for this! I’m assuming your 3 main stats are Power / Toughness / Vitality? I was thinking of doing the same thing.
This is my build http://tinyurl.com/bt2l8k2 for WvW
Strength 0
Arms 10 Forceful Greatsword
Defense 20 Turtles Defense, Adrenal Health and Merciless Hammer
Tactics 10 Leg Specialist/Stronger Bowstrings
Discipline Signet Mastery, Fast Hands and Mobile Strikes
I have two superior runes of water and use Chocolate Omnomberry Cream and 10 points in Tactics for boon duration, it’s nice to be able to switch to Stronger Bowstrings for sieges.
I prebuff Signet of Might and For Great Justice underwater before hitting supplycamps near water, you will get a CD on your “land skill slots” but they are only 20 sec and 25 sec.
Superior Sigil of Blood and Superior Sigil of Strength is optional.
