Guild Wars 2

Just a quick question:

“Kill Shot” the rifle’s burst damage attack seems extremely weak. Maybe I’ve misunderstood the math, however it appears to me that one point into the talent “Deep Cuts” down precision makes the basic autoattack deal more damage than this “Profession Skill”.

Am I right on this? Is it really THAT bad?

If you mean DPS, then it’s probably a bit sad. As far as being an actual burst skill, it’s anywhere from average to awesome (albeit situational) depending how you gear/trait.

Axe, Mace & Hammer burst skills are all pretty good. Hammer especially so.

Kill shot is mostly good when you stack a lot of might and food buffs in WvW against upleveled players. You stand on a wall then, gathering adrenaline until you can oneshot an upleveled elementalist or thief, causing them to come to the forums to cry about it.

Still hits for 12k+ with a proper build and the crit damage banner in sPvP, i probably shot a glass cannon somebody so no need to nerf

Eviscerate, Earthshaker, Combustive Shot, Skull Crack, Kill Shot and Flurry are all good if used right.

Arcing Slice isn’t good only because you can get fury much easier from other sources.

And we do have a list of traits that benefit from not using your Burst skill. Berserker’s Power, Adrenal Health and Heightened Focus.

And then there’s tons of traits that pretty much center around spamming your Burst Skill.

My warrior got hit hard with 15k damage and not to mention I have 2,788 armor. No idea if I had vulnerability stacked on me or whatever that other warrior had due to me being in a middle of a Zerg vs Zerg on WvW.

I’ve seen Kill Shot do over 20,000 damage before, its not weak, it’s incredibly powerful if you’re built for it.

What I see from this thread though in a more broad sense is the true problem with Warrior. Their gear scaling in WvW can legit make them broken but in sPvP they’re very unforgiving for most players.

Looks like he’s focused everything into crit damage, considering the variety in his attacks. It’s easy to end up with all 25 stacks of might and whatnot in a zerg too, so who knows.
