But is it the people who designed Warrior who made it brainless in PvE? More like the AI’s are just stupendously not intelligent.

GS 2 + 3 is stronk aoe-burst (up to 60k in 4 seconds with low cooldown) – thats really handy to clear trash.
Empowered Allies + banner + fgj make one warrior a must have. 30-40% damage increase is no joke in a game based around damage.
We have 8 professions, 5-man partys and one of the 8 professions is a must have. Maybe we play with different people, but I don’t think warriors are that overrated.
And since Warrior is one of the better professions to solo dungeons with, I don’t know how valid your " instead the warrior needs to BE carried by his group" – argument is.
Imho, Mesmer is more overrated.

so warriors are overrated because the don’t offer enough support? (apart from party wide fury / might / conditional removal / swiftness / vigor / regeneration / stability / base stat increases / easy blast finishers).

Warriors stack multiplicatively, while other classes stack additively (in terms of damage output). You take two guardians (that focus on… let’s say protection uptime). The protection uptime doesn’t get increased significantly, because the first guardian could already cover most situations where it’s needed. So basically the benefit is 1 guardian’s prot uptime + 1 guardian prot uptime. However, when you take 2 warriors, this doesn’t apply. Applied might stacks, banner bonuses (provided they take different banners) and weakness on the boss both stack, therefore they increase each other’s damage by a certain coeficient. So it’s closer to (1 warriors damage * coeficient increase in damage from other warrior’s bonuses) * 2.
So while it’s true thieves (for example) can outdps warriors, this doesn’t apply within the maths of group synergy, since 3 thieves will never outdps 3 warriors, since as I said before, thieves’ damage stacks additively rather than multiplicatively.
Now this doesn’t mean that other classes don’t stack multiplicatively at all, they just do so in different aspects rather than pure damage. But for most dungeons all you need is brute force and one poor guardian taking all the hits. That’s why warriors are not overrated for dungeons

What about zerker staff guardians? I’ve seen a recent increase of their popularity. Soon they might flood every dungeon.

The warrior can’t provide much support to his group apart from providing group DPS via FGJ, banners, etc.
Considered that Warriors already have a easy access to high DPS (i mean, it’s extremely easy to hit hard as war. there are builds on other profs hitting harder, but they will need to meet a lot more circumstances and needs much more attention – like a LH ele, for example. Warrior can be played sitting on Axe auto spamming DPS buffs and it’s already good dmg) and, most important, that DPS atm is everything in DGs, those facts alone place it in top tier pve class.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.

We really have all of the tools to solo any dungeon and we’re always a great asset to our teams. I believe it’s a L2P issue with the OP as he’s reached his personal skill ceiling.
Longbow + Axe/Horn = Fire Field every 10 seconds with 2 blast finishers, 1 whirl finisher, 1 leap finisher and 2x 100% projectile autoattack finisher (LB). Shouts for group support and adrenaline building.
I’ll keep playing my dungeon warrior as LB/Axe/Horn, tyvm!
