Warrior Weapon Discussion
I prefer axe/warhorn just for the simple fact of the condition removal and granted boons, not to mention it can also deal consistent damage.
Thanks for the reply, since i don’t have the amount of free time to invest in the game that some do i am trying to get input on builds / weapon compositions to help maximize my usefulness to pve dungeon groups. Id prefer not to be glass cannon (unless someone can describe a build good enough without constant death) so heal shout seems to be at least a staple in what i am trying to do.
I used to run a shoutheal/condition cleanse/buff build with a GS.
0/20/0/30/20
20 in arms for GS skill cooldown and Might
30 Tactics for +longbow range, shout cooldowns and shout heal
20 Discipline for movement speed and signet cooldown
using Healing Surge, FGJ, Shake it off and usually Endure Pain with Signet of Rage
My stats were something like 2850ish attack, 30% crit 25% bonus crit damage, 25k health and 2600 armor, with the buff duration and the signet/shout cooldowns you can keep up might and Fury indefinitely and maintain an over 3k attack with 50% crit.
Lots of group support through buffs, heals and cleanse.
Can take some hits and keep going, also max long bow range for when you need to step out of melee is really handy(I prefer Longbow to rifle for the aoe personally)
edit: forgot to mention, Soldier runes, superior sigil of blood and Life steal food

Damage specced Hammer + Axe/Mace
Bring the CC while dealing good damage so your other glasses can go nuts, or switch weapon and deal great damage and still have a ranged stun handy. Keep a rifle and longbow handy for ranged fights.
30 in arms
25 in defense
15 in strength
Running with knight armor and berserker weapons/jewels. Ruby orbs everywhere. (almost full exotic)
3,207 attack
53% crit
55% crit damage
2,769 armor
18,662 health
I think this is a major contender because the damage output is good, while bringing CC. It might not be as much support as a shout healer, but the dodges you get from the signet and the 15 strength trait really improve your survivability by a wide margin. Even if you do get hit, 18k health is okay when coupled with 2.7k armor.
Healing 6k (3 shouts) from a 7k attack < avoiding it with 1 CC or 1 dodge. And while the dodge is personal survival, the CC can help your teammates (and keep the enemy in fields of pain, to further increase damage dealt).
*/ Warhorn, specialized in condition removal with some heals. Take a look at the Yojack build, the topic for which is pretty much always on the first or second page.
For the offhand, you need a ranged weapon for melee-unfriendly bosses.

Has Yojack’s build actually been proven to be as efficient as it sounds?! In the post it seems he talks a lot about wvw, is the build still viable for dungeons?!
Thanks to everyone for the replies, i read and consider all builds and information provided. It is definitely good to hear a wide range of different styles with different reasoning, this will for sure help me figure out what style works best with what i am trying to do.
