Warrior elite specialisation speculation
1. Weapon
I think the Warrior is going to get “unarmed” fighting. I think you’ll equip gauntlets or knuckles, things like that. You can equip them as main hand or off hand (so you could use a gauntlet main, and shield off, for example).
2. Weapon wishes
Dual-wield pistols.
3. Profession Mechanics
Grabs and throws, and other wrestling things.
4. Utility and Elite skills
Maybe a bear hug? Or a suplex. Some fun, extravagant WWE skills. A fun Elite skill might be conjuring a small boxing ring, and forcing the opponent to only attack you while in that ring. Or something like that.
5. Spec’s Name
Pugilist

Not possible since Anet won’t add a new weapon type.
Agree with Orca, so that leaves what? Pistol and torch?
I’ll take pistol out of those two, you throw in tricks or traps and we could have the Commando spec they teased with three years ago.
Zig I think unarmed is potentially a new class in the future if they decide to go that route, not sure it will be added to the existing classes.
Crystal Desert
I think it will be Pistol. Why? Rytlock has allways been a Warrior, yet his off-hand has allways or most of the times be Pistol.
Also since I doubt we will get a magic weapon (and I hope not) that leave us with Pistol and Torch, and I prefer Pistol. Yet migth be just off-hand
Honestly, I love the pugilist idea, but it would need three things:
- A pair of “sigil” slots to equip them somehow.
- The elite spec would need to have rapid cooldown to compensate for no weapon swapping.
- The elite spec would need to give big stat bonuses to compensate for no weapon stats or damage.
On top of that, it’d need to give some strong reason to make it worthwhile dropping a core specialization, and for not having any ranged option in combat.
Torch is a boring weapon and it’s pretty senseless as a weapon type. I mean, it’s a stick with some flame temporarily on it, a caveman version of a lantern. But I bet that’s what we’re getting.
I’d rather have Pistol with some mobility or CC options on it or Dagger with quick, powerful attacks, since all of our off-hands pretty much suck.
1. What weapon do you think warrior is gonna get?
offhand dagger, because datamined info says warrior gonna be berserker, dagger seems to match more with the theme.
2. What weapon would you like warrior to have?
offhand pistol, with pistol skill 4 being an auto attack, or at least rapid fire with a fast recharge time. maybe 2.25s activation time, 10x attacks, 5s recharge. nah. it won’t happen.
3. What kind of new proffesion mechanic do you think warrior is gonna get?
lots of instant activation or fast activation, non telegraphed skills or attacks. since we got a lot of slow activating and highly telegraphed skills and attacks already.
4. What kind of ultility skills? And what kind of elite skill? (Do keep in mind that skills will have to come from other classes)
cantrip perhaps? from https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cantrip we get “Cantrip is a skill type that enhances the character’s survivability.” and most cantrip have zero activation time, means instant cast. i think berserker needs to have some decent utility survival skills.
elite skill, maybe hulk mode? wait, rampage already does that.
some kind of berserker mode perhaps?
5 What is the specs name gonna be?
berserker. because, datamined info says so.
I believe that the Warrior would be interesting to have something like the Mesmer’s mechanics. Gaining access to a Scepter but as an off-hand weapon to summon and command troops of warriors like him.(Something like Thief’s elite skill:Thieves Guild) The scepter would not fire bolt’s or anything but it would have command spells to order the summoned troops to attack.
I believe is an cool mechanic to have in the game without changing the core theme of the class but upgrading it like the rest do for other classes making him more of a commander for an army. Warrior’s Elite specialization would be the: Inquisitor
since warrior is the “master of weapons” and if its gonna be called berserker, what if he gets a specialization to use 1 handed greatswords? might be too wowish but juts my 2 cents! daggers would be cool too. but would love a 1 handed spear
1. Torch. Because it’s the most boring by far.
2. Spear (terrestrial). 1h main or 2h, preferably 1h main. Probably not gonna happen! Second option: focus (1h main and offhand); add some new skins for fighting gauntlets, magitech power gloves, claws… yeah, that’s not gonna happen either.
3. A rage/defiance/berserk “energy” meter that functions kinda like the Thief’s initiative, but gained in reverse (slaughtering your enemies fills it, requiring constant offensive momentum to maintain optimal skill use). Also serves as a modifier for a scaling passive in-combat Power/Swiftness/Ferocity buff.
4. Meditations, representing supernatural physical skills and reserves of fighting spirit. Elite skill: the Warrior dies … after x duration, during which the character is an unstoppable force (maybe with a revive mechanic when conditions are met).
5. Berserker, because of datamined info. Seems appropriate, if a bit muddled due to sharing its name with the stat set (especially considering its prevalence).
