Warrior is such a trash class
well kind of yes. in spvp in these days, not many people play warrior right now since 2 times continuous nerf upon warrior. rather most people now play 25might stack 00266 dd ele or terrormancer or engi though.
This is one angry kitten.
There is some logic behind meta builds being meta, and non meta builds being, well, inferior.
Hulk Roaming Montages/Build Vids
I always rage but never quit.
Well, I gotta agree at some point.
Its a pity the sword is a condi weapon and its even more saddening that that a dual wield sword setup is not the current physical dps meta.
Sword #1:
Get rid of bleed, increase damage.
Sword#2 and 3:
Leave as is.
Sword #4:
Name: 100 Blades (how creative)
Slashes enemy 10 times (1s) x3500damage
Sword #5:
Name: Sonic Blade
Unleash a sonic wave emitting from your swords.
Range: 600, 1200 Damage.
Other than that. I can agree I dont like meta builds, and a game should not allow for meta builds to exist. Sadly PvP and PvE are all about meta game because they are always the same!
WvW still has the greatest build diversity and I am going to say it again, even though i’ll get hated for this, the classes are balances around WvW, imo.

You know which ammy everyone is moaning about beeing op?
You know what kind of weapons are good with celestial?
sword/sword is plenty viable, making it a pure direct damage weapon won’t make it any better in spvp. In wvw I guess it would be good.

It won’t make it any better in WvW either and by removing all conditions from the sword you have greatly reduce our build diversity. Further enforcing the meta by limiting the number of possible viable builds.

Obviously you’d make another weapon set more condition focused then to even it out. Why must something like this always be mentioned…
Kind of swap the role of the GS with the one of the sword for example.
now please dont start throwing unfitting traits into the discussion etc.. Its just a though for f. sake. I just think a dual wield sword setup as THE power build would have lot more stylepoints. Whatever

That means you would have to change all the traits and their location. Sword traits are in our precision/condi damage line. It makes sense that it be a hybrid. weapon.
Even as it is now, main hand sword is a very good power weapon. There is a thread somewhere with some math to prove it.

angry post is angry but there is truth in it.
anet is nerfing warriors really heavy handedly and worst of all hambow is the one build least affected by it.
bah.

Once upon a time the forums were
“Wow Anet loves Warrior please nerf”
when warrior went from being “free point here look at me” to “I might actually be able to fight you.”
Now with them being almost the bottom of the barrel, the other classes (thief excused) are being strangely protective of their class mechanics.
Zarin Mistcloak(THF) Valkyrie Mistblade(WAR) Kossori Mistwalker(REV) Durendal Mistward(GRD)
I used to think (build op, pls nerf) like you, but then I took a nerf to the knee.
So your saying ‘pull a LB/GS Ranger’ level change but for Warrior and completely unbalance the current meta …
you know what made warrior viable? healing signet, cleansing ire, berserker stance, miss two of these and you are a dead horse, you know what happened when these things did not exist? warrior was the free point class, no team wanted, in tpvp if you see a warrior in 10 matches, you are lucky
This. This exactly. And it’s a shame that warrior is basically reduced to 3 of the same utility skills, we all know which ones, there’s very little variety in that. And as Simon says, miss any of the things he mentioned and you get a meh build.
As much as I respect Anet for making classes and their mechanics quite different and playing each class unique, they’ve done a good job with Mesmer, Ele, Engi and Guardian. Not so good with necro, bad with warrior and ranger.
I’ve always imagined that Warrior should also have F1-F4 skills available on adrenaline, not only 1 attack and those skills would be more utility-orientated.
Warrior is pigeonholed when it comes to builds because of the way it was designed. It could be such a fun class if they made F1-F4 skills based on adrenaline for him, letting the warrior choose to either play offensively or defensively via those skills (much like mesmer). It would open up new build variants, but most importantly, make warrior a more active class to play, not just popping strong passive utilities.
Active and effective = fun.
Passive = boring.
Anyway, what I’m suggesting here would demand quite a class redesign and that’s not going to happen…
It is absolute garbage….it really is. The whole game as far as class balance is garbage though. If you have played long enough you have seen various classes rotate in and out from being trash to being on the top. They don’t know what they are doing when it comes to balance….it’s just throwing darts at the wall and hoping for the best. 2 years and I’d say it’s just as messed up as it was in the beginning. Sure the classes and where they fall on the food chain might have changed up but as a whole it still sucks.
The problem has been and always will be trying to balance sPvP, WvW, PvE and condition damage versus power. It’s simply too much for them to effectively balance. I don’t think they even know where to begin. They don’t utilize a test server to test proposed changes….guess they do the testing in house? Who knows because they don’t tell us what they do. We don’t have dev reps that handle each class or even sPvP/WvW…..they basically are crap.
Its all about the cash shop, they rotate over buffing various classes so people reroll and need to regear, great time to sell gems, bag slots, etc.
It makes no sense til you realize its all about the bottom line
And also the QQ of people who dont understand what counter build means they always want their class to win against every class with 1 build and if their class got killed by the counter build of other class they cant accept it and they will rage QQ on the forum nerf this nerf that class its too OP instead of thinking did the other player outplayed him or counter his build so what should i do to prevent it or how could i counter that build.
Well counters are a picky topic.
In a perfect world every professions should have equal chances against every other profession. Not build, profession. And to an extend that is the case.
People often seem to confuse profession or class with builds when they QQ against their counter on the forums.
To be fair, many professions dont really have a lot of options or build diversity. So yeah.
Lack of build diversity is the culprit.

I run a condition warrior so I do not agree with this. S/S are find like they are. Good mobility with enough conditions to make the useful.
