Q:
Warrior leveling guide?
A:
warrior is by far the easiest class to to level, which is why there isn’t much need for a guide – even if you never assign your traitpoints a warrior is still rather decent, never try that with an elementalist or engi though ;-)
the signet build with the trait for added precision is quite powerful until ~60 or so, after that you have enough trait points to go after the real builds.
axe/axe and gs are pretty decent for leveling, if you like speed (I’m addicted to swiftness), use axe/warhorn.
after 60, you might want to go for the GS traits (more dmg, shorter cooldowns, might on crits etc) and leave the full-signet-build behind. maybe try out stances or shouts (try the healing shout build for a few levels so you can move on to something more useful).
as always during leveling: this is the only time you can switch your playstyle every 5 levels when buying new green armor for cheap. try a condi build if you like. try every weapon. at 80 you need exotic armor and when trying a new build you need at least yellows, otherwise the discrepancy in stats is just too high to give you any meaningful conclusions. thus trying out new stuff is something you should do as much as you can while leveling. maybe you’ll find out you really like hammer and mace and when you hit 80 you’ll try for a heavy CC build. after all, you should also have fun playing.

I know you guys are better than that!
A leveling guide hey? i wont be much of a help as i am a nooP my self but this is how im doing it.. did it.. @ lvl 75 now.
I also used the signet build with GS believe me.. i feel u.. it is really boring. but since lvl 70 i am tryng to get sum experience in a condition spam playstyle and hope to get sumthing like this @ 80..
I leveled mostly with finishing maps and running dungeons… since i came to the place called Orr which is full of champions and interesting events with good rewards.. got my first superior sigil sumthing @ orr yesterday..
hope i gave u some company now :P

Deep Strikes is more or less bugged at the moment. It is likely that it won’t actually give any Precision.
I think your build is quite solid. Greatsword with Forceful Greatsword is extremely good for leveling because of damage and mobility.

oh, didn’t know that. since when did this become bugged? while leveling (ok, it was last september) this was the perfect trait <40 and even useful for a few levels after. and it used to synergize so nicely with forceful GS.
@op: also play around with bow a bit. the long firefield is pretty nice, if you can get a few blast finishers (bow #3 and WH#5, stomp and banners) in it. you won’t do as much damage as with a gs but it’s a fun way to play regardless.
Whenever they touch something there’s 50% chance that it gets broken.
This was changed at 25.6:
Deep Strike: This trait now scales with level rather than granting a flat bonus.

ha, you’re an optimist! I wish it was only 50% ;-)
it does make sense to tune it, as it was rather strong before, but if the scaling doesn’t work, it’s a shame. for new players it was a perfect way to get into the game without worrying about the 7-9 buttons much. after familiarizing themselves with the weapons, they could start to swap out one sigil after another for more active stuff.
though with the added stunbreaker and other buffs to sigils I’m waiting to see if sigil builds become viable for endgame (at least for wvw, for dungeons they lack group utility). I don’t really care either way, but it would be rather funny if the 5 sigil warrior everybody used to frown upon would become a respected build.
Hello all. Thank you for your responses. Sorry I haven’t been keeping tabs on this thread. I did end up just sticking with my original build and am at level 70 or so. It works well but I don’t feel I have enough precision to pull it off quite yet…but at 80, I think it will work well.
My build now looks something like this:

I still use the bow on ocassion but now run axe/axe in dungeons alongside GS. I think I went too far into the disc. tree, to be honest. I think it’s effective at 80 when you’re always using axe/axe (or almost always) but right now I use bow too much to warrant the 20 into disc. Any suggestions where to go next?
I didn’t know Deep Strikes was bugged! Glad I switched from the build early on (40 or so).
I marked the answer with a lot of helpful info in it that I didn’t know even though all of you answered my question (even a little). Thanks again!
Thanks again.

The only suggestion I can make is to trait for the Banner if you’re going to use one. As far as too far into Disc, you could always pick up Signet Mastery. Don’t fret though, resetting your traits is cheap.
