Warrior leveling question
The combination of GS 3 and 5 along with SOR for swiftness should get you pretty decent mobility. Warrior actually has some of the better mobility while wielding a GS when u compare it to some other professions. If you feel that you really need another movement skill you can try swapping out a utility for bulls charge (900 range “leap”).
As for sustain…
Yea there isnt much… the only real way to get healing or condition removal is to go with a shout build which sacrifices a LOT of utility/damage :(
Thanks for the reply – very helpful!
I guess that I am on the right track then and will just have to keep leveling up. I haven’t been using SOR for swiftness, so I’ll try to do it.
IMO gs + sword/wh is best for leveling warr, at least very fast leveling. Use all the signets and just hb everything, use sword/wh when u need to get out and kite a little while heal on cd. The mobility in gs 3 and 5, plus sword leap and swiftness get you from heart to heart, event to event in no time…I can get across a map faster than a thief (not in combat that is), by using SoR, gs + sword/wh, bulls rush…cycling them..
As an 80 warr you sustain health by dodging mostly. For my warr I wear zerker everything but have defensive traits for endure pain trait and use utility endure pain, so thats a lot of damage absorbed. I like to use vigor food (bowl of orrian truffle and meat stew, something like that i think) plus gs 3 acts as a dodge. Warrior is about killing before getting killed.
It’s a bit odd with Warrior and mobility. If you play GS + Hammer (or 1H Sword) for instance, you fly all over the place, but if you make sth. like a Rifle/Hammer build you’ll miss GS mobility (and Adrenaline gain of GS to fuel Hammer Burst skill). Axe/Axe, too, might be more popular if it had a movement skill other than the Burst skill (which is superb).
Greatsword + sword/warhorn is the best mobility set I would think.
Leap 2 on Sword is on a very short cooldown, Charge (swiftness) on warhorn, GS 3 and 5 for movement.
Depending on your traits you can get +30% boon duration so that will help with maintaining your swiftness.
Basically in wvw when I want to get somewhere quick I’ll swap in sword/warhorn and then:
SoR + Charge to stack swiftness
Leap + weaponswap
Rush + whirlwind + weaponswap
Then just keep spamming sword 2, warhorn 4, gs 3, gs 5 and SoR whenever they come off cooldown.
You’ll move pretty fast if you do this.
