Hi!

I’m here to talk about warrior mechanism.
I found the warrior lack of some richness in its gameplay.

- 4x Banner : passive bonus AoE
- 4x Signet : passive bonus + “give me all now instead” option
- 2x Shout : regular bonus AoE
- 4x Stance : temporary bonus with very long cooldown

Bonus isn’t fun. It’s useful, but not FUN.

Have you this feeling too ? Do you think that Warriors need some spice ? Have you any ideas how to improve warrior utilities ?

Yeah, I see what you’re getting at and I think you’re right.

Banner’s are probably the biggest offender in my mind; the abilities are bad, and it’s just used for the boring (but good), passive buff. The simplest thing I could think of is revamping the active abilities.

Signets are pretty close to ok imo. If they can be balanced so that there’s a legitimate choice of when to use the active/passive, then I like. Unfortunately not all are well tuned for that.

Shouts could use some work. Guardian shouts are much more interesting.

I’m fine with stances. It does seem like a “stance” would be a more permanent state, but I think they work fine as short duration, powerful abilities. Maybe they should have just been called something different.

At the beginning, I thought that stance are sequence skills to toggle them offensive & defensive way. Or like Lingering Elements.

Imo, banners and “For Great Justice!” do the same job. You use it as soon as they’re available to benefits from the bonus and do nothing more after that.

“For Great Justice!” should be renamed “Shoot them!” imo. It feel absurd with a Charr to roar “For Great Justice!”.

I could also suggest a new shout : “Hold on!”, defensive version.
Grant Protection (5sec) and Regeneration (10sec) to allies (600m) with a 30sec recharge rate.

Properly used, “Hold on!” will allow Warrior to mitigate damage input to help allies in a more prideful way than a passive +170 toughness/vitality buff.

I agree that banners are useful and the least funny utilities Warrior have.
If upgraded : perma regen + dps increase to the party by hitting a button every 96sec.
So much fun here… So disappointing T_T

OP is exactly why Warrior is the only profession I can’t seem to level. They’re strong, have great boons, deal solid damage, work well solo and in groups….and are boring as hell. Every utility except the Physical ones are passive buffs.

Banner = drop for passive aoe buff
Shouts = use for passive aoe buff
Signet = do nothing for passive buff

I want to like Warrior but I get so bored because I either never use the utilities (signets) or they’re boring stat boosters (shouts, banners).

Other classes have some very interesting utilities that are more than just stat boosters and boon stackers. Warrior needs utilities that are a bit more robust and dynamic.

Not that it really matters but you forgot physical utilities. they are almost worthless because of their high cooldowns and relatively low damage, but they should still be mentioned.
