Warrior's Down State
I don’t know the exact chance, but I’ve been “saved” quite a few times by killing an enemy or two in Vengeance(don’t think the tooltip even mentions it). I also recall there being a trait that ups the chance to 100%…?
And even if you don’t get revived the skill is very, very useful. Many a dungeon runs have been saved because I used Vengeance to bring up the downed team mates before getting killed myself. I really wish they’d fix the “double death” bug with it though.
Also, the Wiki states:" Effect can be cancelled by achieving 100% health. You will NOT be defeated. One way to do this is when you regenerate health upon leaving combat."

Sweet Revenge – 100% chance to rally if you kill someone while in vengeance.
However, I find this useful only in PvE & hardly on WvW.
The #3 isuseful in WvW if you get up and run to the back of the zerg, during a fight. You will easily be rezzed in seconds. The trait is only useful in PvE or SPvP if gs glass cannon.

But I don’t think people will res you most of the time if that area where you’re down/dead are battle zone.
If your having problem with a warrior’s down state I don’t know what to tell you. Our down abilties are hands down the worst in the game.

other professions have such sexy 3 skills like faster /additional healing or become immune/moving out of the crossfire for a short period.
It is much easier to survive downed sate with my elementalist than with my warrior because you can hide around the corner or move to another player so he can rezz you faster without risking to move into the fray.
Imo Vengeance should be changed to either one (or more) of those:
- rezz with full life and pretectionboon
- increase time to 20-25 seconds before dying
- go back into downed state (maybe with lower health and longer CD on Veng) when you fail to remove the debuff
- make the 100% chance baseline
Also the doublekill bug must be fixed. its just plain annoying to wait and then rezz. In most cases I do not use Veng at all. Only to get up and rezz a downed player in a critcal moment.
Another handy use of Vengeance is pairing it with the War Banner. I’ve had a lot of scenarios in the Fractals where we’ve all been downed and I managed to Vengeance and throw down my Banner to get my party back into the fight.

I think gear only gets damaged after you waypoint. Maybe after you’re dead, but not when downed.

The Vengeance effect does not go away when you respawn.
So if you activate Vengeance and die from regular damage (not the countdown expiring) you will still have the Vengeance effect ticking down after you’ve respawned, ending with a “double death” as the effect runs out and you die again, resulting in two counts of damaged equipment.
It sucks, especially since you’re eager to respawn and get back into the action. But nope, gotta wait it out before respawning…
