Warrior's New skills maybe needs rework or?
and on a side note, all it does or makes us do is having to make more Gold and Do a total Re work on our gear to be able to survive 3 sec’s longer and do hell of a lot less damage i mean is that even fair on any level?
Hello,
I main a warrior, and play other classes as well – and honestly, I have no problem at all in PvP and WvW with it, either running a direct damage build or a condition build. Actually, my opinion after playing the warrior since the start of the game, is that the class is one of the most forgiving, and that some of its skills / traits are overpowered (although, like most people, I’m happy to use them and pretend they’re “balanced”!). YMMV.
Some classes of course have great opening bursts and nice combos – but nothing that’s unavoidable or unblockable. Also, each build comes with its weaknesses, and therefore can face natural counters – whatever the class.
Would you mind sharing your build, and maybe describe a situation in which you had problem leveraging it? Maybe you went for something too glassy, with no enough control, insufficient condition management… for whichever purpose you intended it? Have you tried putting in more sustain, and see how it went?
Regards.
Engi being able to melt 3 ppl and sustain 3 ppl on one point even with whichever build you using i mean thats ridicules.
Ahh yeah, the good old 6/6/6/6/6 that typical warriors believe is possible when they can’t faceroll their keyboard and win.

Flissy ill pretty much ignore your comment, have a good day sir.
Elegi I run a Hammer/Great sword build because i love both weapon sets and the looks. but the game itself seems to make one build stronger then thee other even in Warrior class like condition warriors seem way more overpowered at the moment.
I run a 10/0/30/0/30 build which I somehow came up with. and run zerk gear except two parts with extra toughness. and to be honest I dont feel that amazing in the spvp or wvw wise with skills because to be honest the new skills are useless in my build or i feel like it.
so yes you could be right there could be fault in my build or lack of skill. But the fact remains of the amount of damage those i have mentioned above is still to ridicules. just wanted to know if its only me who has run into these kinda problems.
Hi,
I run a Hammer/Great sword build because i love both weapon sets and the looks.
Ah, I see. Well, these do fit perfectly the warrior spirit! However, this combo has two structural weaknesses: it has not range, so you can get kited and damaged by ranged foes (although the mobility of the GS helps a bit here, provided you have stability), and it has no block, so leaves you open to any not-dodged attack.
In other words, coupled with a berserker gear, it’s a super offensive build, a kill-or-die thing where you can get killed as easily as you can kill.
but the game itself seems to make one build stronger then thee other even in Warrior class like condition warriors seem way more overpowered at the moment.
Yes and no. I agree with you when you say that condition warriors work nicely: they have high damage, high defense, decent mobility, melee and ranged options. I’ve played it a lot in WvW: when meeting class with low to no dispel, that’s an easy win (all the more that I like to use confusion as well).
However, it has its defects: if the opponent has high condition cleansing (or better: condition transfer) and control, then the fight can turn bad.
If you only use the hammer burst to cleanse, then it’s like you have no condition cleansing against an expert condition build (because the burst can miss, in which case you can only cleanse once in 15 or even 21 seconds). You at least need the berserker stance, and use it when you have managed to enter melee fight – along with some stability to avoid being controlled during your attack. And even with that, the condition cleansing remains quite low, in comparison to other builds / classes – especially if you get stacks of confusion on you.
I run a 10/0/30/0/30 build which I somehow came up with. and run zerk gear except two parts with extra toughness. and to be honest I dont feel that amazing in the spvp or wvw wise with skills because to be honest the new skills are useless in my build or i feel like it.
I’ve yet to try all new traits, so cannot really comment on this.
so yes you could be right there could be fault in my build or lack of skill.
Well, each build has natural counter-builds, and yours seem very offensive, so you may suffer the fate of many glass cannons – glorious victories, but also crushing defeats.
As for your skills, I haven’t played with you, so would never comment on it. Maybe the build you chose is a bit too difficult for your current level (it definitely is for my current level), so you could change it, adding more defense, and progressively get back to it by removing the defense, once you have gotten stronger?
In any case, whatever your skill, you’ll find players worse than you, and better than you. We all gotta learn and deal with it
Regards.
Hi,
Just a few words about conditions. Warriors usually run with “Cleansing Ire” which means that, through their burst rotation, they automatically remove conditions. Somehow, at the basic level, they have it quite easy and do not need to have active condition management, unlike some other classes – in other words, the more you attack, the more you cleanse as a side-effect (unfair, isn’t it?). This can however make them unaware of how to fight condition-heavy opponents, where cleansing ire isn’t enough (i.e. you need to cleanse more precisely than once in 7-10 seconds).
Aside from dodging, blocking, increasing their life pool, healing and regeneration, Warriors have a decent amount of options to manage conditions:
- Skills: “Mending”, “Berserker’s Stance”, “Signet of Stamina”, “Shake it off!”,
- Weapons: the warhorn,
- Traits: “Restorative Strength”, “Dogged March”, “Cleansing Ire”, “Shrug it off!”, “Quick Breathing”, “Mobile Strikes”,
- Runes: Hoelbrak, Lyssa, Melandru, Resistance, Trooper, Sunless, Antitoxin, Water,
- Sigils: Purity, Generosity,
- Foods: any food that reduces incoming condition duration.
Now for the big question: among these, which are you using?
I improved myself at fighting conditions by soloing Belka, the first boss of Arah path 2:
- To reach her, one must kill the spiders at the start of the path (using help from the NPCs), then rush to her place, avoiding the mobs along the way (using stability and swiftness, and dodging the (near) one-shot projectiles).
- To fight her, one must regularly cleanse burning, avoid her big energy ball, melee her for the highest damage (don’t use pets or anything, that ruins it), and destroy some barrels using cleaving, when you need some place to rest between fighting phases. The barrels do the highest damage, and the more you reduce her life, the more they come to life, with the whole area being bathed in flames when you’re about to kill her.
- Try it with your current build, and progressively add cleansing options until you find yourself able to melee her till the end.
HTH.
Welp the blind on swap is not needed. So its basically useless. There are other ways to remove blind on swap with sigils.
The Crit on burst is not needed since we can already crit 3 times with intelegence. So pretty useless.
The Might sharing is pretty good.
The 10% aspd while duel wielding is underpowered. Seemed like they were trying to give warriors aspd passives like in other games but falls short of that in comparison.

The only one worth using is phalanx strength. Even then you need specific gear to make the skill work. Not exactly the build diversity that I was hoping for with new traits.
I think they need a re work on the new skills they added, I would probably never even use any of them and I haven’t even wanted to and ive checked other classes as well and its actually sad that they just make one type of build more Uber then others.
The Warrior class is supposed to be able to handle most and all situations but thats not what im seeing. yes with certain pve things sure. but wvw/spvp other classes just out dmg you by far.
Engi being able to melt 3 ppl and sustain 3 ppl on one point even with whichever build you using i mean thats ridicules.
p/p thieves now in wvw just shadow shoot / shadow shoot and a Warrior just being able to run around not even being able to hit the person, and just gets melted from conditions. Same with Engi’s in wvw now.
or has it only been me who sees or has run into these types of things?
You probably will never use any of it or you never actually try use any of it?
I tested, and the 2nd line and 4th line of new grandmaster is really good.
It adds new build that the Warrior can work around, yet people are still complaining about no build diversity despite there’re at least 2 more…
Only new build those new traits made was might sharing. Axe PVE builds already existed and the 10% aspd bonus while great on paper and on test golems, doesn’t live up to the same potential in real world fights.
