Warrior survivability? And the perfect tactics?
Hey there,
I ran into a similar problem. I run a glass cannon gs/rifle build with all my specs in power and precision. To make myself more survivable (as my guild was getting quite upset with my down-time in dungeons) I changed my specs while keeping my dps up. Keep all your arms specs up. The crit chance is vital. Put at least 10 in the defense trait line, (I’ve seen some people put 20 in toughness and 20 in discipline) and that many signets isn’t necessary. In high levels, +40 precision per signet becomes less and less useful as your crit chance is less influenced by each individual point. Try using the signet of might, signet of the dolyak, healing signet, frenzy, and endure pain. Using frenzy potentially doubles your dps while its active, and with endure pain, theres no downside. dolyak reduces incoming damage, and healing signet keeps your survivability constantly unless its a lot of burst damage. Hope this helps =)
In open PvE it doesn’t matter that much what you use. Frenzy + Hundred Blades should finish off everything very very quick (if you can’t use Frenzy without Endure Pain better just scrap both).
In dungeons Frenzy shines only in few situations (when you have limited short time to deal high damage). Using two utility skills just to use Frenzy isn’t good when you can take For Great Justice! and get more DPS for entire party.
Shake It Off! is also a good skill offering a stun-break and condition removal.
Anyways it would help more if you could explain your situation more precisely.
For mor survivability and nice DPS you can try The Invincible Berserker build

or
Sonic Boon – Shout Greatsword build

and read all text under, you can learn about warrior alot.
Personaly i use modify invicible berserker build: 0-20-30-0-20 knight armor+solider rune, zerk jewerly + weapon with strength rune. In case that i need more defense i can swap to emerald jewerly with knight weapon.

Also I can recommend you replace your signet in dungeon for something usefull for all party for example: dolyak- defense banner, might – for great justice and your party will be happy.
I don’t even revive glass cannons, it isnt worth my time. Even “pitiful damage” will contribute more than a constantly downed ally every time he gets nicked by an AoE. You can always pick them cause they’re loaded with signets…. And dead a lot.
You need to find a middle value with your armour, skills and weapon choice. Basically you didn’t make a warrior to sit on the edge of battle shooting wildly, you made a warrior to charge into the thick of battle swinging that great sword around and wait for it… Not dying.

Important part is also food. I use omno pie+ oil and get lot of HP back.

Get rid of the signets except signet of rage in later levels they don’t add anything.

Signet of Stamina is one I often find myself using. The extra Endurance adds quite a lot of survivability. Plus, the active effect (cleanse ALL Conditions) is pretty handy.
But the Signets that just add a chunk of stats? Fuggedaboutit…
Do you even lift, bro?

Signet of stamina is amazing endurance regen, dolyak is fantastic for extra stability + the +100 toughness. I agree signet of might and fury are a little less good as they bring not a whole lot, though fury grants you full adrenaline which means you can keep shooting Combustive Shots more often esp. in wvw where it does a ton of damage.
Also they are nice when you eat crits, but otherwise Might, Fury and Healing are a bit eh overall.
As for OP, you might not find good dps and survivability in many builds because how the game was made, but what I do is eat all my crits with sigil of blood and nourishment. If you do a TON of crits you will replenish health so fast it’s not even funny and you still keep your damage pretty high.
