tl;dr at bottom.

If you trait for shout healing and use Healing Surg – I mean “To The Limit” seeing your hp just leap up for 10-12k healing (or higher, those are my PvP/PvE numbers) on a 24 second cooldown is amazing! It’s about 440 healing per second, even higher than healing signet with the same build. Additionally, if you have high adrenaline gain rate, the extra adrenal health healing is nice.

All this said, this roughly means you take a damage hit to gain at max a (rounded up to impossible number) 15k heal every 24 sec and a 500 heal every 3 at max.

So at the impossible max:
That is 15500 healing in one second, 5166+2/3 every 3 sec, or 666 + 2/3 a minute.

In realistic numbers of what I have it’s:
10,400 a second, 3400 every 3 seconds, and 466 a minute.

Assuming you don’t sit on adrenaline, because like all our trait lines tend to detest us doing that now:
10,000 a second, 3,333 + 1/3 every 3 seconds, and 333 a minute

So for PvE with boss fights lasting a couple minutes, that’s absolutely fantastic
That means we get that whole 333 a minute.

Now lets assume the average PvP fight lasts 20 seconds
That means we get 500 a second, but it’s one big burst, which sounds great.

All that said, the main problem is that’s not good enough. We don’t have the real, tangible tools to do anything. We also lose damage doing this. What do I mean?
Well sustain isn’t just healing, or clearly the meta would be warriors only. It’s actually how well you can evade, negate, and heal yourself from damage.

This means that a dragonhunter who does high burning uptime and stacks with lots of aegis will always do better. Why? Because he can block all he wants and keep a passive damage source going. What about power builds? A power build like, say elementalist, who can go immune to damage or greatly negate it (stacking protection, vigor, and regen) can continue to pew pew while ignoring most incoming damage.

So my thoughts? Quit playing with damage and healing now and give us some actual tools so we can get away from stances. Power and condi warrior have the same sustain problem because of it. We need tools!

TL;DR:
Warrior healing is ok, even better when traited. We lose some damage while traiting, but we get healing even better when we do. We’re still stuck however, because outside of long, grueling PvE fights, we lack the tools to actually negate damage and thus need stances. Warriors need better tools to deal with damage other than a simple combination of damage shields (one of which can now be stripped).

Warrior is absolutely trash everywhere except PVE. Sustain is bad and developers did not solve absolutely anything with last balance patch. All they did are some lazy adjustments (not needed damage increases, weapon skills CD reductions that will never make fast hands only optional, buffing still useless heals, evade on rifle is situational – long cast time). I am maximally disappointed and can’t wait for Black Desert Online. There is higher chance that warriors there will be better than to expect better survivalability from anet developers that don’t even read feedback on this forum. I will rather quit than reroll to broken class/elite specialisation just because it is broken. I will wait before selling my account (if I manage to do that) just to see if next balance patch is the last salvation for this game. I will also make another thread where I will whine about all kitten that destroyed this game for me, from my point of view – even though I know that no one cares at all. I just need to give my feedback for current state of this game.
No hate, just disappointment.
