Warrior tanking in dungeons?
Warriors cannot tank in dungeons
1) You cannot our aggro a guardian
2) GW2 isn’t made with the concept of “tanking” you can make a warrior tanky and beefy but bosses still have skills that do 40k dmg.
As i’ve just posted in another thread, aggro is generated on 4 things.
1.Closest Target
2.Current Damage Dealers
3.Highest DPS
4.Shield users.
So as you can see, if you have a shield equipped and are stood on top of the mob, there’s a good chance the mob is going to attack you, but really there are no true ‘tank’ archetypes in this game…the game is about avoiding damage, the only real purpose of the shield is to provide minor disruption and maybe a 50% boost to survivability, but past that it ends. As bambi said Guardians have it at the moment, they can simply out-heal the damage spikes.
You can certainly do a control build to a point, where you simply mace/shield + hammer CC mobs so that they don’t harm the party.
The problem you will run into doing this is that dungeon bosses are almost perma-immune to CC. Every time they are subject to a control effect, it removes one stack of CC immunity, so you will land about 1 out of every 4 or 5. You’ll also need to coordinate with party members so that the CC immunity stack is clear for when you want to interrupt a specific move.
no one can tank anyone dungeon…not even a guardian…there are no tankers…thats how this game was designed…
only how well u can survive it…
well you can sort of tank, with endure pain shield stance, and a number of cc’s I can keep mobs busy on my warrior for quite a while. may not be a tank in the traditional sense where you sit and eat all the damage but its more about absorbing the big hits and protecting the squishys
