It appears that all warrior traits that increases damage does not affect condition damage.

For example,

Cull the Weak

Empowered

Desperate Power

Destruction of the Empowered

How does this even make sense?

We have no trait that increases Condition damage, other than the base arms bonuses. And condition warrior is the only set up that stands somewhat of a chance in pvp.

It is true that the warrior lack alot of options that increase our viability as condition specs and having more options would certainly be something I would like to see in the future.

We do however have the minor trait that gives us a chance to apply bleeds and the +50% bleed duration as well as distracting strikes (although condition builds typically do not have alot of hard CC).

Condition Damage I feel is somewhat a viable build in PvP for warriors based on the fact we are investing mainly in one stat arguably (condition damage) instead of three (power, precision and crit damage) in which the latter would kitten our survivability. Building condition damage allows us to have sustainability while at the same time having the ability to do damage.

Out of any classes Warriors do have the highest bleed stack potential (although I have seen some Mesmer and Thief builds come pretty close). But our lack of diversity of condition application and AoE conditions (outside from F1 Longbow and F1 Sword though the sword can get you in a bit of trouble sometimes) make it hard to justify taking one over a Necro (while they cannot really stack as much bleeds as Warriors, they in turn have alot more AoE, CC, interrupts, condition variety with condition transfer and boon conversion and arguably live longer than warriors). Or even an HGH engi who have alot more survivability and condition variety + CC.

I do agree though that having more condition options would be cool, but there are a few power builds out there that seem to be OK. However, with heavy AoE + condition damage/application to everybody while dancing around points more so than single target DPS being the meta as of right now, Longbow seems to be the only viable weapon as it fits that meta perfectly.

I think the key to our viability is to somehow combine decent burst damage with the ability to wear people down over time with our conditions. Or even some sort of unorthodox condition build that can also take on the role of a team support class (i.e a condition build that can shout heal and remove conditions off of others) that could possibly justify taking us over other condition builds that do not provide that kind of utility. In this current meta having condition removal up the butt is never a bad thing at all.

Only elementalists, mesmers and (strangely) guardians have traits that increase their own condition damage, and those generally aren’t the most popular condition builds, save for confusion mesmers.

Warriors, however, have the best trait for increasing condition duration (+50% to bleeds), which adds a major boost to total damage when an opponent can’t remove conditions for whatever reason. Warriors also have one of the better bleed-on-crit traits, with a 3 second duration (better than necro/ranger’s 1 second, equal to engi’s 3 second, lesser than mesmer’s 5 second but mesmer’s only procs from illusion crits)

Warriors also don’t need much trait support to hit the bleed cap, or to stack mass bleeding and burning, which leaves those trait slots open for defensive traits, or you can go with rampager’s gear and benefit from the direct damage increasing traits anyways.

50% duration is a joke with this many condition removal in game. Also with only 2 damaging conditions, removing bleed stack is trivial. Now if they made every 3 stacks of bleed a different condition, then yes warrior doesn’t need “traits that help conditions”

Im sorry I have to disagree, yes bleeds are the first to disappear, but i play a condi warrior and how fast i can reply bleeds is just crazy with 50% crit chance (in s/tpvp) they can condi remove as much as they like i can still keep 6-7+ on a single target consitanlty and even then, its only 2-3 secs before im back upto and above 10+ stacks.

I know condi warrior is not as powerfull and doesnt have the same cc abilty as a direct damage warrior but as for it being bad, I find it jus the opposite i think its one hell of amazing playstyle and should be looked into more by more players.

Not at all. Conditions get removed in the same order they are applied. If you apply cripple, immobilize, and bleed: cripple will be removed first, then immobilize, then bleeding.

Traits to help condition builds would likely come in the form of traits that apply supplemental conditions. Something that worked like sigil of doom (combined with a real sigil of doom) would be amazing. Or combining Precise Strikes with Rending Strikes. Or adding the reverse effect to Leg Specialist (immobilize skills cripple for 5sec).

1-2 of those types of traits would help keep the pressure on with condition builds. But I agree, condition builds are underrated. My fav is a hybrid power/condition build.
