So in the recent patch all passive speed boost signets were changed from 10% to 25%. We also know that a very large number of warrior builds use runes to keep the swiftness from signet of rage up as much as possible (to a lesser extent the other boons it applies).

As a frontline – primarily melee – class, one of our big issues that we seem to have to dedicate a lot to is keeping up with our opponents. I was wondering what peoples thoughts on possibly having ‘Warriors Sprint’ joining the signets at 25% would do to/for us?

Allowing many builds to free up the dependancy on runes for swiftness duration, and prevent the (near)swiftness effect from being cleansed off us I think would be a decent adjustment and not one thats too overpowered. Thoughts?

Doubt it. One is a trait, the other is a utility slot.

I’d rather get a passive condition removal trait before this gets buffed. Mobility isn’t really a problem on warrior.

Call me when this game gets fixed…. if it ever does….

I think mobility on a GS warrior isn’t an issue but the rest it’s not that great, especially as leaps are affected by cripple/chill.

I can’t see them giving us a passive condition removal because of the class philosophy, as much as I’d like it.

The class philosophy is as fail as i’ve ever seen. It goes in the opposite direction of what this game’s class design is supposed to be about (no trinity). When you design a class to be dependent on another to keep it alive…you may as well throw in tanks and healers at that point. The primary appeal of the class design in this game was supposed to be self-reliance. Hence the emphasis on the dodge system. They just need to own up to the fail and correct this…instead of hiding behind a really crappy, revised class description. I’m pretty sure that was not the class description when I created my warrior or the class description when I bought this game.

How fast IS Warrior’s Sprint?

Also, if you have it and apply Swiftness are you X percent faster from Warrior’s Sprint and Y percent faster from Swiftness (ie: cumulative) or does Swiftness just set your movement rate to the base + 33 percent (ie: not cumulative)?

Has anyone done any tests?

I never understood why certain clases have a MAJOR Speedpassiv while others dont.

Ok I can understand that certain ranged classes like ranger and elementalist should have a little benefit because they are squishy and kiting without improved speed sucks. They should be a little faster than other classes. However buffing some of the most mobile classes even more seems wrong to me. A different is fine for me but dimensions in between are too much.

However Warriors for example could be played as a ranged class too. I think each class should have at least a signet granting 15- 20% movementspeed while Eles, ranger and Thiefs should get 20- 25%.
Right now it feels like a thrill of speed playing my Thief while for example a Guardian feels heavy and slow. My Warrior which is my main feels slightly better than Guardian but still slow. It is annoying if a Mob is half dead before you arrive just because some classes are faster into the action than we-

The thing I lack most is a gapcloser like the Swordleap with a short cooldown (something around 15 sec) No fancy knokdown, no damage (or maybe a little) no damagecondition or other stuff that justifies a longer CD. Just something I can use after rolling out of a Damagefield and leap onto the boss immediately again.

Something like this: “Rush” leaps towards a target with highend speed crippling the target for 2 seconds – 600 Range 15 sec CD

A possible trait could be: Instead of leaping to a target Rush grands 7 seconds of Swiftness and Virgor

With something like this Warrior would feel like a agressiv skirmisher without playing Sword or Greatsword.

As far as I am aware the trait is 10%, and I have certainly never heard of it being cumulative. I know the Necro dagger trait is not cumulative with the signet but haven’t tested Sprint+Swiftness since BWE1.

It is in fact 10%. It is also not cumulative. Swiftness will just override it and set you at the 33%.

It’s a crap trait. If it was 25% like the other class options then it might be an option… barely. Really they should just add 25% run speed to the healing signet or something. But that’s assuming they’d make the warrior utilities something other than the baseline vanilla “benchmarks” that all the other classes get better versions of.

I’ve used it but considering the speed dropoff in combat anyway, the speed you gain from the trait is negligible enough that I’d rather take Heightened Focus or Inspiring Shouts, depending on my utilities and other traits.
