Just garbage. I mean I run duel axe/rifle with more than enough survivability to not be considered a glass cannon and even when I get the first shot, they still manage to destroy me. Thieves? Invis half the time, don’t even know what I’m hitting and I’m down. Mesmers? Illusions EVERYWHERE, absolutely frustrating especially since I’m a single target warrior with almost no aoe. Its as if a hammer is necessary to even win against these people. Every time I run into a thief, I run. When I run into a mesmer, I fight until I realize I’m killing illusions, then I rage quit.

This is all in WvW, I don’t even dare to go into PvP until I feel as though I have a chance against these classes. Am I the only one with problems against these classes or do I just lick absolute ball sack at the game? I almost have my Jugger Hammer so I’m hoping this won’t be that much of an issue considering hammer is “amazing cc.”

I suggest you read the " state of the game " the dev even replied about warriors are free prey atm and they have a good old laugh @ noobs with bull charge + frenzy 100b lol .

You are NOT trading hits efficiently with that build. Warrior is all about learning how to trade hits whether be it a bunker or a roamer.

It means you have to find an equilibrium between survivability AND damage out-put reliability.

Since people are negative about nerfs, how about we buff to balance then?

Roll a thief or mesmer (I rolled thief, even tough I think they are boring and warriors are awesome). That way, you can win again. At least until ANet implements balance and you can hop back to your favourite class and be effective.

Active: Mesmer, Warrior
Inactive: Guardian, Elementalist, Ranger, Thief (ex-main)
Leveling: Engineer, Necromancer

I don’t really have a hard time if 1v1 them. Just use stomp, endure pain, fear me & SoR.
I also use a bow as alternative instead of rifle because of the immobilize skill instead of cripple.

I don’t even bother trying to fight thieves and mesmers with my warrior. There’s no point. They have too many ways to escape and mitigate, usually while spamming /laugh the entire time.

All forms of mesmer typically beat warrior easy, its very, very difficult for warrior to beat a good one. You HAVE to have a gs to have even a remote shot against a mesmer, its the only way to clear their clones reasonably fast (whirl and bladetrail good for this). Most of the time though they just kite you to death slowly though, and the only way to win is for them to make a mistake, sadly enough

Thief, it depends. Once you get used to fighting theives its actually not too bad, i typically win more than i lose since i’m so experienced going against it (since you see them soooooooo often in spvp hotjoin).

BS d/d thieves are fairly easy, if you can swap to a shield before they start the HS spam, you will probably block 2-3 hs, they will be out of initiative and then you cc chain and burst them down. These are the most common types of thieves you will see

Pistol whip is a bit harder imo than bs thieves. If your stun break is down, your even more screwed than if vs a bs thief, otherwise its a similar strategy. They typically have more evasive tricks than a bs thief meaning they can reset fights easier though.

Condition thief is by far the hardest to deal with. They don’t kill you fast, but they kite you around, bleed and cripple you and all the round make you feel silly (caltrops ugh). Only time i beat these reliably is when i’m using a condition build myself (thieves in general are weak to most condition builds)

Call me when this game gets fixed…. if it ever does….

Both are easy, like ridiculously easy to kill. in wvw I make groups of 5 run from me. how does everyone else complain when there is the awesomeness of the shield on a warrior :/ Main hand axe is where the damage is. Also not using any sigent but signet of rage helps.
sPvP is stupid, mesmers are easy to track. They are the ones that are dodging. and thieves, you just got to blow all your CDs make them run in fear or die because they are so squishy. You are a warrior, find a face smash it.

It is easy to make a group of five of them run from you when you have forty other people in the zerg following you, and the awsomeness of the shield with a 3 second immunity and a 1 second shield bash gives you the edge does it?

I always run with a warhorn with Quick Breathing, along with Mending, so with that there’s rarely any problem getting rid of conditions (unless I’ve ended up solo against a group, and even then 50% of the time I survive long enough to get back to a group of teammates). I did have Shake It Off too but to be honest Endure Pain is more helpful when you’ve got lots of other condition removal.

I’m talking strictly sPvP, unless you really use a warhorn and deep tactics in sPvP which would be really unusual. And “surviving to get back to teammates” isn’t exactly winning. If i really wanted to run i could also by popping mending > balance stance > gs 3 > gs 5 > bulls rush, but that isn’t gonna win you many sPvP matches.

Call me when this game gets fixed…. if it ever does….

I’m sorry, but it’s not true at all. In ideal situation, you will hit every single cc and damage skill, and only then, you will be able to defeat a good mesmer. Note that I’m talking about good mesmers, not those just starting out. Even when stunned, he will be able to port back, go invisible, or use invulnerability. Porting back is on rather low cooldown, so there is no way you are going to stay on that mesmer most of the time.

Most of them are either using mh sword, or staff, both of which have great defensive skills on very low cooldown. I mean, you can get 3 sec invulnerability every 10 seconds, or at least it was like that when I last played as mesmer.

Warriors may be great when in melee range, but ANet hasn’t given us some good options for something like that. All of our gap closers, with stun and kd effects on them, have rather obvious and slow animations, and are quite easily dodged, therefor making warrior unable to keep up with his target, especially when thieves and mesmers.

Thieves, on the other hand, are beatable, and most of them are quite easy, that I agree. You just have to learn their mechanics. I made my own thief, played it for some time, and now I don’t have much problems against them. I’m not saying that mesmers are op, I’m just saying that it’s almost impossible to beat a good mesmer if you need to stay in melee, and you don’t have much AoE with you (or none), for a warrior of course.

On my necro, and even thief, I managed quite good against most mesmers, simply because conditions, and epidemic, were eating them and their illusions very fast. Thieves have enough porting abilities to stay in range, plus a spammable gap closer, and most of them, if not all, are using SB as their second weapon set, so AoE damage is there == no illusions. Biggest warrior’s flaw is being kitted easily. Now, I’m talking only from tPvP perspective, as I’m not playing PvE, or WvWvW much, at least not with my warrior.
