Guild Wars 2

Hey all, long time MMO player but new player to guild wars 2 here. I’ve been playing for a few weeks now and so far i’ve leveled a warrior to level 20 and an ele to level 40. I really love the playstyle of both but at this moment i’m leaning towards my warrior. From my understanding Ele’s are probably a better choice overall for WvW/PvP, but I really like the playstyle of the warrior. I was curious how well a mostly melee warrior holds up in WvW/PvP.

I love playing offensive melee characters, but don’t want to die every 10 seconds. Should I re-roll to guardian or with the proper traits/skills can a warrior hold their own in large group fights without dying a ton? I have my elemenetalist for ranged so I really want to play a durable character that can run around ccing/damaging groups of people.(I love the hammer on my warrior) I’m looking for some advice from some of you who have had the experience at level 80, before spending a bunch of time leveling a character that I’ll ultimately be disappointed with at level 80.

You can play the way you like in WvW it just means you have to invest time in figuring out what works best best gear wise and build wise.

You can excel at WvW as a Melee Ranger or a Ranged Warrior.

Word of advice: really solid builds are rarely shared on the forums, when they do its weeks or months after the said player has moved away from it.

The other way to learn about really good builds is from professional gamers who need you to subscribe and follow them.

Durable melee?

Just reroll to guardian, which is basically a durable melee warrior. Or use your ele as melee D/D, it’s far durable than a warrior can ever be.

Warrior needs regen, protection and proper condition removal to withstand the melee damage churn.
