“colesy’s on rampage today. Slaying casuals left, right and centre” – spoj
So I’m leveling one up at the moment, and I was actually quite surprised about how fragile they are. Sure, I’m only like level 31 and I’m trying to zerk out my playstyle as much as possible, but the fact that I can’t kill stuff fast enough due to having to make do with weak greens just makes me melt against open world mobs without a bunch of evading.
So anyway, I have a few questions.
When doing the warrior rotation (which I presume is gs 2 > gs 3 > axe 2 > mace 4 > auto > swap > repeat, correct me if I’m wrong on this), do you often cancel out your hundred blades or are you able to finish it? The final attack hits harder than the others so canceling it out would be a bit of a shame.
Is it worth using eviscerate or does the casting time make it worse dps than just auto?
Do trash mobs melt under hundred blades fast enough that the root doesn’t matter or do you actually have to evade?
I just want to know some of this basic stuff so I don’t walk in acting like I own the place and then faceplanting because I’m suffering from a case of cantdodge-itis
Dont worry about cancelling 100b too much. The final hit does hit harder but it also takes longer to hit so its the same dps wise. You only want to use axe 2 and mace 4 when you need vuln. I rarely used them while i was leveling as vuln isnt that important at low levels and in open world. Save eviscerate for when the enemy is about to die.
While i was leveling my warrior i pretty much only used axe / mace because it gave me mobility. But having gs kills things so fast. Just make sure you buy level appropriate weapons/armour every 10 levels and you should melt things with no real difficulty. And you should get the hang of the playstyle pretty fast. Also remember to not interrupt the axe auto until it hits with the final strike!
I’m kind of a zerker but at the same time i’m not
I have all the gear but i just use my greatsword no rotations but my alt is a rifle for range, toughness is maxed along with attack and the rest is in precision. I find this works well because i can heal myself and tak physical punishment at least so im not a complete glass cannon
Hm I don’t know. With my warrior I went full zerker from the beginnign and in open PvE GS2 + collect loot worked fine for me. I used Sword/Warhorn as a secondary set for more mobility.
Is your Gear up to date? Including Jewelery?
Well… it may be something to do with aggroing like 8 mobs above my level at once and fighting aetherblades.
…
:D
Is it possible to reliably time whirlwind as a third evade?
Zerk playstyle is very possible.
I tank the shaman solo by simply dodg-eva-invul-blocking his attacks, same with trash.
You just need to combine your mitigations efficiently so that you can keep DPSing while avoiding damage.
Remember that every point of damage you dodged/evaded/blocked/invul’d is also incoming damage that you prevented to your team, so you’re not only DPSing there but also protecting your team.
Another thing, know when to flee.
A dead Warrior in the middle of mobs is a problem for your team a lot more than a Warrior recovering in the backline is.
for a lot of GS warriors the whirlwind is a third evade, yes
if you are having trouble killing things, especially in groups, try using a hammer instead of a greatsword. its a little better at kiting pve mobs.
the axe skill 2 is an interesting skill. it can hit up to 5 mobs at once, twice. it is extremely fast and stacks vulnerability. in addition it has a low cooldown. this skill is best used for building adrenaline. a lot of people use it for damage, don’t. use it to build adrenaline and stack vulnerability. if you are surrounded and have the axe trait then a single use of this skill could potentially give you 2 bars of adrenaline.
When doing the warrior rotation (which I presume is gs 2 > gs 3 > axe 2 > mace 4 > auto > swap > repeat, correct me if I’m wrong on this)
Start with a2+m4 so you have 8% more damage on 100b
do you often cancel out your hundred blades or are you able to finish it?
yes to both. always do it when you can complete it (after a big attack etc) but if you have to cancel it then cancel it
Is it worth using eviscerate or does the casting time make it worse dps than just auto?
its a huge burst of damage but its a net loss if you are 30/0/0/10/30. only use it to last hit when you arnt chaining mobs or on a boss. while levelling use it whenever since youre not getting that bonus damage on adrenaline
Do trash mobs melt under hundred blades fast enough that the root doesn’t matter or do you actually have to evade?
depends on the mob
