Warriors secondary class speculation
warriors are mundane. leave magics to guards and from what it looks like revenant
i want to see a brawler type uses a single one handed weapon and a open off hand. grabs, tackles and dodges. a good way to give wars daggers.(and maybe pistols)
-duel shields would be pimp but i dont see it happening.
-staffs on wars would be sic, no magics just good o’ pummeling.
-bet money there will be a 2hand weap specialist. we can only pray for spears
-torch off hand would be saweet!
Why doesn’t anyone favor Dagger main-hand as a possibility? :x
Also, correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t there a Warrior looking class wielding a 2h spear on the HoT trailer?
Dagger MH and sword OH is bad look,no new weapons just a staff with polearm skin. Spears are UW weapons don’t forget about skins people.
In the pre Pax trailer clearly they fighting with land spears, and why would Anet use a single Spear like skin on a staff for the Revenant reveal?
Technically the Spear on land isn’t a new weapon just a water weapon used differently..
Like GreatSwords are magic ranged weapons for Mesmer, but is a Melee weapon for Guardians and Warriors.
So Spears could be a water weapon for some classes and a land weapon for Warriors.
Whips.. Make them dual wield with heavy CC .. fast, lighter damage, lots of cc stuff on them.. Snares, pulls etc ….
That would be my dream

If you’re talking about Rytlock, that wasn’t a spear or polearm of any kind. It was a (two-handed) mace or a staff.
Since we know they aren’t adding any new weapons, or converting existing water weapons to land, the Warrior Spec might use a Dagger. Not only would I love to be able to use the Incinerator, I like alamore’s suggestion about a (slightly) more agile, close-range fighter that uses his free hand in some sick combo attacks.

Exactly GS can do both magic or physical, staff can be caster or melee, waiting for that OH pistol and the weapon has to be used by at least 2 classes so no favorism for warrior. It’s not like we don’t have skins that throw off the weapon type.

The new specialization for Warrior will be the “Dragoon”
They will wield Land Spears/Pole-arms. They are specially trained
Dragon slayers created to counter Tyria’s very obvious “Dragon Problem”
The Warrior realized that brute strength alone wont be enough to
effectively slay dragons. So they decided to concentrate on their mobility,
reach, and accuracy to eliminate the Dragon threat with precise strikes to
their vital points using specialized Land Spears.
The Dragoon will be able to maneuver around the battle field with speed and
grace to confuse their foes. Then at precisely the right time, they will strike a
vital point with their long spears with remarkable accuracy.
They will be fierce and Beautiful!
From what i understood there will be more than one specialization for each class. Otherwise if the specialization was just simply better than the original class everyone would choose it and there would be nothing “special” about it.
I seem to remember it was said that there will only be one spec at first, but the system used for it will allow them to bring more specs later on.

No new weapons just weapons not previously usable by that profession.

There is only one spec per class
What if Executioner was a thing and they added 2h axes they “could” since the trailer hits spears for a land weapon
A support warrior with Staff / Shouts could be interesting.
Speaking about shouts, it would be cool if we got landspears for Warriors, we could turn them into the almighty Imbagon! But no new weapons confirmed. Guess we’ll wait and see on this one.
It is confirmed that there are no new weapons. The weapon Rytlock uses in the trailer is a reskined staff.
Staff is still a viable weapon for a warrior, some cool kungkittensmashing and dodging weapon maybe? Still i believe we will be getting a torch in offhand it kinda has the most sense.
But giving new weapons to other professions kinda hits the warrior since his whole point is the ability to use more weapons than other professions so i hope in the future we will get our two-handed axes and land based spears or a new mechanic ( can you imagine dual wielding two-handed swords or hammers? ).
^Rytlock using hammer, not staff.
