I was thinking of a damaging shout on a 30 sec cooldown, since we already got “Fear me” for the aoe cc fear, “for great justice” gives team buffs, “Shake it off” is the cc remover/stun breaker, “On my Mark” is a good single target debuff, but a Shout that did a good chunk of damaged that scaled off of Power would be cool. Would make Shout-P/V/T warrior do some dps while still giving good buffs/heals to team mates.

“Break Their Legs!!” – deals xxx dmg (skill coefficient of .7 if it can crit, and 1 if it can’t) and cripple for 7 seconds

or

“Drown in Pain!!” – deals xxx dmg (skill coefficient of .7 if it can crit, and 1 if it can’t) and (5 stacks) bleed for 8 seconds

or

“ROARRRR!!” – deals xxx dmg (skill coefficient of .7 if it can crit, and 1 if it can’t)
and (3 stacks) confusion for 6 seconds

or

“Finish’em Off!!” -Deals xxx dmg (no skill coefficient but can crit)(max 3 targets) instead does a small base value like 1k dmg, and scales with the enemies current health. [2x dmg if enemy health is less than 75%, 2.5x dmg if less than 50%, 3x dmg if less than 25%]

Just some thoughts =)

I think they should take it a step further and have 1 elite per utility type for all classes. So using warrior as an example, an elite Shout, Physical, Banner, Signet. We are already half-way there, but not all classes are so lucky. This would make things very interesting to people who are running a build with heavy emphasis on a certain utility type.

Well is half your damage compared to you being full glass cannon on a thief, or a GS warrior? If so, then most normal builds will do half of your damage…

Honestly, my damage is really not that hindered in order to run shout heals… Having permanent 8-11+ stacks of might and permanent fury sort of makes up for building a bit tanky and having the highest base health and highest base armor in the game. It also gives you plenty of ability to stack offensive stats in your trinkets while keeping 27k health and 3.1k armor. I have roughly 50% crit damage, 50% crit chance, and 3,200 attack with those defensive stats (this includes food/oil). It is all about maximizing your build. Most people think warrior is easy and faceroll status, but anyone is impressed when a warrior is very good and plays at an elite level.

Because it’s an AOE rally with 1200 range. People won’t have to be targeting the person who dies to get the rally. OP doesn’t even begin to describe how good it would be in wv3.

So we have another "stomp"? Why....

Also "coward" would be bad, warriors already have too many abilities that can line up a hundred blades, we don’t need anymore whining about how OP it is.

Perhaps a shout that intensifies depending on current health level, and to keep in sync with the might stacking machine that the warrior is, the lower your health is the more might you receive. Would be a good way to turn a bad situation around. Perhaps some additional effects to teammates/foes.

There were so many nice shouts in Guild Wars 1, I´d like
to see some of them reappear in Guild Wars 2.

“I will survive!” or “I am unstoppable” would be nice
shouts to give warriors some survivability.

For example:

“I will survive” : Elite skill. You gain regeneration for 15 seconds and additionaly gain 3 seconds of protection for each condition you are suffering. 35 seconds recharge time

“I am unstoppable”: You gain swiftness, stability and regeneration for 3 seconds, depending on the number of foes nearby. Maxiumum of 5 foes. 25 seconds recharge time.

Probably too strong, but along these lines.

The problem with these suggestions is that since it replaces SoR you lose the 5might/fury/swiftness.

I vote for good old “Watch yourself!” .
Gives swiftness (40s), Aegis (15s) and Protection (6s) to allies, 60s CD.
You lose the 175 power (5might) 400 precision (fury) from SoR, but gain Aegis and Protection which also affects your team.

I maximize my damage while having a lot of tanky stats. Your opinions on Warrior likely have you run mostly offensive stats with a great sword and something like dual axes with Knight’s Armor and Berserker Trinkets, which is not “tanky”, not to mention the entire premise of your argument involves running GS, which locks you into going AT LEAST 20 points into Arms and, very likely, 20 points into strength as well. 20k health on a warrior is ridiculously low. You have the luxury of stacking less health than other classes are forced to, but high health and high armor are never a bad thing. I consider my dps to be pretty good despite my tanky stats and I’d love to know what you consider “average” crit chance or crit damage to be on what you consider to be a “tanky” build. The high base armor and high base health hardly make up for the fact that you are mainly a MELEE class without adding to both of those stats.

So yes, if you are running a Greatsword with offensive traits and offtank (Knight’s/Valkyrie’s) armor/trinkets, maybe even with some Berserker’s stuff, your offensive stats will be better than a “tanky” build because that build is not tanky…

Maxing damage on a “tank Warrior build” (I use tank in the lightest meaning possible as there is no such thing as a Warrior Bunker/Tank in the PvP setting) means having around 1,200 power for a final attack rating of around 2,500 attack… Sure you can might stack up to around 3,000ish, but you are missing the real reason why Damaged Traited/Geared people do a ton of damage; Critical Damage.

I consider my dps to be pretty good despite my tanky stats and I’d love to know what you consider “average” crit chance or crit damage to be on what you consider to be a “tanky” build.

I would say average or relativity low critical chance is around 40%.

Both excellent points. My base crit chance is around 19-21% and I gain about 30% more putting me at roughly 50% with my food/oil/fury up. My build has permanent fury so it is always around 50%. I have also traited into Discipline giving me 20% crit chance with another 30% coming from trinkets or weapons. By using maintenance oils, I make up for about 200 precision with my toughness and vitality at the levels they are. This gives me roughly 50% of both crit chance and damage which hits for big damage on a hammer, especially with stacked might. I run a sigil of bloodlust as well since power stacks exceptionally with crit damage. My guild group also stacks a LOT of might so I regularly have 20-25 stacks, 8-11 sustained by myself. I really don’t have problems with damage and haven’t sacrificed any of the elements of being a “tank” in doing so. It is about maximizing a build, which some people who think “raw damage from a GS and that the ‘base health pool’ is high enough in large combat”, don’t understand. Maybe in sPvP it works, but not in WvW, which I think was the individual’s assertion that I responded to.

Why don’t you simply post your setup through this site: http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/warrior/
You can see how much effective your setup is there.
Normally zerky Warriors have around 5500 to 6000 effective power, figure out yours and do a percentage comparison so you’ll know for sure how much is the DPS difference from your setup and the standard one.

One good thing about Warriors is the crazy amount of Precision we get, which we can sacrifice for Toughness without losing much DPS.
For instance if I was to go “full tank” I’d go like this: http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/warrior/?8|7.1c.h1.e.1c.h1e|0.0.0.0.0.0|1g.a7.1g.a7.1g.a7.1g.a7.1g.a7.1g.a7|2v.d1c.2v.d1c.3v.d1c.1i.61.1i.61.2v.d1c|k5a.0.u29b.0.k65|2e.1|e

3500 armor, 20k health and yet still 250% crit dmg and 2500 power so I would still be critting 20k HB, 14k killshots, 12k evis and whatnot while sporting 3500 armor.
That’s the good of min/maxing, no need to hit like a rabbit to go tanky.

It is quite clear that you have no clue what a shout heal build is supposed to accomplish or you would not have posted the build that you did. I have 6000+ more health than you in my build, higher precision, a stacking sigil (which you do not account for), and a hell of a lot more heals/cleanses and utility from my weapons. The bloodlust sigil, by the way, was a way to balance for the lower power in the build while maintaining the needed traits.

Your build isn’t even comparable in any way to what I posted. The discussion was about maximizing the damage on a tanky shout heal build and that my damage isn’t that bad. You basically took the word tanky and then kittenized it by thinking you can slap soldier’s weapons, cavalier’s trinkets, and 30 points in defense and call it good then preach about how you have so much more armor and toughness than me. You also have 0 boon duration and the entirety of your vitality revolves around your weapon set. You have no points in Tactics at all, which makes this build as far from mine as possible, since my build revolves around Tactics XII. You also disregarded the food I take in order to justify your build as well, ignoring the large amount of lifesteal that also keeps me alive while I am fighting.

Next time you are going to critique someone who has the intent of running a specific build, post something that accomplishes the same things the person is trying to do, but does it better. I have spent over 1000 hours on a Warrior in WvW and this is what I came up with. The point was never to have 2500 power or 2254 toughness. You subjectively chose traits that made your base stats higher, but what are you going to do when you get immobilized every 5 seconds? Just sit there and die? Then get blown up with conditions you can’t cleanse? Please. Your build is apples and oranges and I challenge you to run it in WvW and see how it works out for you in a large fight against a guild running condition bombs (which is the current meta, btw). Defy pain and 2254 toughness or not, you will melt.

Apples and Oranges, my friend. Also, you need to be alive to use all that power you have stacked. I could go on for an hour why your build is so different and why I made the tradeoffs I did, but it probably wouldn’t do any good. Honestly, my build helps my team, yours is designed to kill single targets. Both have their merits, but you cannot compare the two and take 2 stats out of context of the entire build and tell me I don’t know how to maximize stats.
