Pre-patch I really enjoyed using my rifle to stack bleeds.
I used it a bit too, it was indeed fun and surprisingly effective, all the more opponents didn’t understand immediately what the build was about. Not my preferred condition weapon, though.
..and sword/warhorn feels incredibly weak. It just doesn’t stack bleeds like rifle used to.
If you manage to melee, then you can reach 25 stacks with the sword only (investing in bleed duration, for instance with krait runes). The point, however, is to manage to stay melee, i.e. control your opponent’s mobility and damage efficiently.
As power weapons, sword is meh, and rifle is junk.
The sword is special: the AA doesn’t hit big, but #2 is great to engage/disengage (all the more that it cripples and possibly immobilize with Leg Specialist), and #3 can hit up to 7k in PvP on targets below 50% in physical damage builds.
I haven’t tested the new rifle yet, but I’ve used the old one in a berserker build before. I found it very nice in duels, because it had soft/hard control, significant damage with Volley (up to 7k as well in PvP), an interesting burst, and long channel times (useful to track stealthing / teleporting classes).
Currently, I like playing Axe offhand, in a berserker/pack build; recently did several 11k+ damage against medium armor classes in PvP (you cripple first, put on stability, then whirl). I wouldn’t run it for other game contents than PvP though, because the damage is reduced by 50% in PvE and WvW.
Does anyone know a good banner build?
I assume you’re talking about PvP, right? Well, banners imply fights on certain locations, so you can possibly build to hold nodes.

You were not the only bleed-rifle user. I used the rifle explicitly for this purpose, and now I feel like I have no ranged condition attacks, because the bow simply doesn’t offer the mobility I need and yields less than one fifth what I was able to deal with the rifle in terms of condition damage.
I do not know the reasoning behind this change, but it seems to me like a typical example of careless problem-solving in which one thing is destroyed to “fix it”. Air conditioning broke again? Demolish the whole building, then there’ll be no need for air conditioning, right?
Please bring back bleeding condition to rifle. It’s impossible to play with warrior anymore
The change was stupid. Bleeding Shot was actually a much better auto than the new one, and now the Rifle is significantly less usable than it was before. I don’t mean to speak disparagingly of anyone, but their balance team is just awful.
I think they should move the Bleeds to Volley. That way, we can at least get some use out of condition damage on Rifle.

Post-patch I just don’t know what to do with my warrior.
Longbow is cool and all, but it’s main attack has nothing to do with condition builds, and frankly the fire damage is nearly as good without any +condition damage.

The latest patch completely broke Rifle in my honest oppinion.
I used to play a 20/30/0/0/20 (or 4/6/0/0/4) Rampager rifle build since I got invited into the beta, my charr’s name even reflect his speciality (Lockeye). I realy enjoyed that build and I’m probably one of the first guy that gave a decent shot to Distraction Strike trait.
I already didn’t liked the change to Mh/Sword hamstring and explained why I believe those changes were bad. And with the rifle now beeing a direct damage weapon, instead of hybrid, I have to either fight with a bow (which I personnaly don’t like) or switch my Sword&Board with an Axe (in which case I loose a ton of mobility). And with the change to Adrenaline drain, I can’t even place a decent Killshot with a Berserker build.
With both my favourite weapon sets not matching my preferences anymore, I see no reason to play my Warrior until they fix most of the issues related to those recent changes.
yeah. anet made rifle totaly kitten. Rifle is the hardest weapon among warrior elite skills to make its elite skill hit correctly but now it loses all the adrenaline, even worse than ever. Also, about bleed… bleeding was a lot better than double adrenaline cuz double adrenaline requires vulnerability condition upon enemy. (You will find yourself when you got pretty much used to rifle that, you wont use 4th skill that much with 5sec decreased weapon swap trait that most of warrior have, which means previous bleeding requiring no condition that enemy need to be vulnerable was a lot better, we are just losing the benefit of double adrenaline since 4th skill’s cast time is too slow prior to fire and we don’t use that skill that much as we have dreacreasing weapon swap trait ). The problem is that anet dont even notice themselves that they actually nerfed rifle, not buff.

Rifle#1 should do increased damage the further away a target is.
Rifle#3 should give 1 adrenaline per hit.
Rifle#4 should apply revealed for 6s.
And then, we have a very nice weapon.

My review on rifle is that, considering how hard to make killshot hit by comparing to similar axe’s elite skill that does similar dmg to killshot, this killshot need a bit more buff. I wont say that its cast time need to be decreased, but its projectile velocity (speed) and damage need to be buffed. (or “pierce”) Also, they need to retrieve back bleeding dmg as rifle is boosted in Arms(condi) line, instead of double adrenaline upon a condition of hitting vulnerable target. Rifle’s 4th skill. brutal shot, also need to be altered to something else that does bit more dmg, or grant just pure triple adrenaline instead of inflicting vulnerability as it take 1sec, which is long, to cast.
