We attract the wrong type of player.
Not going to lie. I can’t stand when “commanders” go into Spvp thinking they are hot “s***” and that they own the place. In my opinion that is just as bad as the people who flop professions because it is the perceived op class of the month. Those were usually the first people I killed in Spvp when I played.
To the actual topic…
There will always be bad eggs when you have a profession that is popular. Warrior is/was the most popular class in this game since launch if the surveys I read were true.
As to why I still stalk the forums if I don’t’ play….
I am waiting to see how long it takes Anet to kill the game.
It happens with every class. When my I was messing around with my thief in sPvP I killed another thief with 1 heartseeker, and suddenly I am a “Heartseeking spamming noob”. Nevermind that I only used it when he was trying to run away and was below 25%.

I’m unsure what commanders have to do with anything, however I have to assume that’s a reference to my Commander status in the screenshot. I don’t tag up during PvP and the tag wasn’t up in that match, whenever you log out with your tag up it glitches sometimes and will display the buff even though you aren’t actually commanding.
Back on subject, of course there will always be bad eggs, but it’s still a tad annoying at times. My build wasn’t even superior to his but he made excuses and insulted me with no real reason behind it other than having lost. People like that have flooded solo queue and even though I’ve noticed it in abundance from other Warriors, people of other classes display this attitude and it’s a shame.
This build will probably work only against very bad opponents.
I mean, looking at your combat log:
rifle butt, then immediatly killshot, two warriors so no screen clutter with ai mobs.
Anyone who plays pvp longer than a week could dodge that.
Is that soloq? Why are you playing a trollspecc in solo queue?
He isn’t completely wrong in saying that that specc doesn’t help your team at all.
On the other hand: who plays a class in arena if it’s his first day :/
Questions above questions…
edit: you forgot to take his name out in one line of the combat log

" Dude it’s a troll build"
" No it’s a fail build" > gets killed
lololoBut that dude must be terrible … how his not dodging killshot? What a noob
It has pretty massive damage potential, but it’s extremely easy to both counter and kill. It lacks good defensive utility and can’t cleanse conditions. It’s not a build I’d ever use seriously unless my team just needed something to fill the niche of a long range DPS that can put out that much damage that quickly, but it would have to be a team that can hold its own for at least a decent while when outnumbered.
The Killshot build I run can’t defend very well from 1v1, can’t survive 2v1 at all unless it manages to escape with GS gap closers, and goes down hard if focused by the other team without any kind of support. It’s extremely vulnerable to CC as it lacks Stability as well. But good lord is it hilarious to play with when you blast someone for 9k and they never see it coming.
So yeah, I’d call it a troll build. It’s a bit gimmicky, but I’ve been having fun with it the last two days. I’ll probably swap back to Conditions soon though.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, he actually could have dodged my Kill Shot but rather than do so he went for Earthshaker. My Killshot went off as he got about halfway to me and he died. I laughed for a good minute at that.

Hmm, seems the image didn’t save again. I’ll correct this.
It’s solo queue, it contributes to the team under certain conditions. I’ve landed a few nice kills running this, I’m not saying it’s a good build or viable in an actual team but it’s pretty fun and has its moments. 9k on a half HP target or dropping a Light Armor target from full HP while they’re distracted with F1>3 is pretty funny.
I’m playing a troll build in solo queue because after having used meta builds I wanted to try something new, and I’ve been having a pretty good time with it so why not use it? It has large weaknesses but I have to admit it’s been a bit refreshing. There’s been a few times I’ve been in a 4v5 where I didn’t even notice because I was having too much fun Killshotting people to notice we only had 4.
Funny.I one tried a rifle mace/shield zerker amulet in spvp(for the lolz, rifle is a terribly designed weapon) and was doing fairly decent against thieves and mesmers cuz of channeling.A lot of funny riflebuts in skyhammer ^^.I was being flamed 24/7 about being bad for playing rifle regardless of never loosing a 1v1 with that build.Just ignore the majority of players in hotjoin have no clue about pvp whatsoever.I just lol irl when i kill fotm OP builds with my lol build and move on.

I would love to see these bandwagoners get destroyed by any decent mesmers.

thing is rifle build is so rare now we literally forgot it’s timer. totally got outplayed by a rifle warrior today in hotjoin on my thief…just because i forgot how long it charges…and i got nervous lol…

It was nothing against you personally, but it just “grinds my gears” when I see commanders. Because honestly, the vast majority of them actually think they are better players than the other people in the game (or at least the vast majority I have talked to seem to think that way). When in 70% of all cases where I see them fight… it is not pretty. The only thing the commander tag means to me is a fail party.
I had hoped that Anet would do something similar to RF online where a Commander actually means something but they made it a bought privilege instead of skill. It is a mockery to what a commander is and what they do.
Again, it is not against you more so Anet and how they designed commanders and all “failmanders” out there.
As to the topic, there are a bunch of really bad Warriors, a handful of decent, and almost no great ones left. There are almost no great players left of any class. The pro gamers abandoned this game long ago (3 months after launch).
I use commander tag when i waiting for wvw queue in mists (it helps with priority) and because of that some of my sPvP matches (waiting is boring, so i go to hotjoin from time to time) occurs with tag on. Nothing personal.

I agree. I think it’s because people that play a new game thinks; “Hmmm what do I play… Warrior? Smash hard? Very yes!” I know I thought like that when I pre-bought the game last year. As it turns out, Warrior needs more time learning than many other classes. I have a set of different classes but even after this year that has gone I don’t feel like I use the whole potential of the Warrior, which is why I still hang on to it.
I think people can relate to the Warrior, since it’s a class that’s in almost every MMO out there. Therefore a vast majority chooses to play it, it’s the only thing they can relate to.
Warrior has changed since gw1. The warrior i’m used may have looked straight forward to observers, but on the mic they were a shot caller. They knew when monks major heal was used, they knew who was over extended and choose the person/moment when a spike would be laid down. Generally they were players who had played all professions and knew most the builds and could recognize when someone was playing them in a spam style (Making them easier targets) and who was being prudent with their skills. Once you’ve played with a shot calling warrior like this you realised quickly that the build is straight forward, but how advanced you could take the profession was enormously high.
I came acros enough hammer warriors to feel i knew the build without having to play it, but on the nerf announcement I ran one for a week. Apart from all the stuff said, I just found it a fun build..but also felt if you weren’t using your mini map to target out heavily contested nodes..looking at players names and what conditions they have to figure out what they’re facing and joining 2 vs 1 situations to keep nodes or uncap them you weren’t really making the most of them..unfortunately players looking to steam roll solo players became the hip thing to do and too many took a selfish approach to it which only garnered the build a fair amount of hate.

there is also only 3 main melee professions out of 8. Guardian is melee..but their purpose lays away from pure melee DPS. Thief is squishy and doesn’t have that warrior feel. So out of the two heavy melee professions, it is kinda natural to choose warrior so you can play an actual warrior over guardian.
Ran into a warrior in wvw the other day, running the S/S LB regen spec. Killed him, he joined my party, said I was good, and I gave him some advice on how to play the spec from my experience fighting other warriors playing it.
“kitten you too kitten” his parting words.
People like this play all classes. I have run into some jerks and then others who spent a great deal of time to help. In general, most I have spoken to have been very kind and helpful. This community is much more mature than what I was used to on SWOTR or WoW.

Got into a 2v2 battle in Hotjoin sPvP, myself (War) and ally (Engie), against 2 thieves. I managed to down the first, and badly injure the second, before I got downed. The downed thief was nearly out of health, and the up thief was on the verge of going down… the engi stood there in the Cap point roughly 10 feet away, watching most of the fight. Not helping stomp, or DPS, or even rezzing me. Nope. Just…. capping.
Needless to say, I ultimately got killed, and the downed thief rallied. Both of them, then double teamed the engi, who died. I suggested to him that, the fight was easily winnable, if only he’d intervened. Rez me, stomp the thief, or even just throw down his supply crate on top of the whole mess, anything but stand idle. The responses I got back were a barely legible mess of name calling, skill insulting, cursing, and suggestive sexual implications regarding my maternal parentage.
Needless to say I report the heck out of him, but honestly, this type of player will always be around, and will always act this way. Sad, but true.
Some people will always be this way as long as anonymity protects them. Manners and common courtesy are at a minimum these days. That being said I have seen both kind and really rude warriors in my time playing GW2.
Yesterday i was spectating a match with a thief and he killed somebody who’s first name is Perpetual. After he killed him the perpetual guy starts yelling. I think he was playing a mesmer. Might be him. Just sharing
I joined a dungeon and got harassed by this HOPE guild group for being a warrior without banners. That is my biggest problem is people expect you to have certain meta builds and have no respect for people and what they run. I thought it was even more funny because the current dps warrior meta doesn’t even have banners.
I find it hilarious that that guy is rank 40 and still gets mad over hotjoins.
Please people… quit getting mad over hotjoins.
really bad engineer

That’s actually pretty likely. He tried to say he could kill me on his Mesmer because of how bad I was. It may very well be the same person.
Also it’s a shame people have no respect for the build people run, I haven’t run into that issue yet fortunately. Not in PvE anyway, but I don’t pug.
I played a DPS Guardian today which actually got more hate, I was told Guardians should only bunker and that I was a noob hahaha. Not much Warrior hate today though.
I just want Hamstorm warrior back
