Weapon Diversity
In the process you kill every power warrior build for WvW, PvP, solo, and non-phalanx dungeon builds, just so you can play with axe (which already has plenty of might generation even without the bonus from Forceful Greatsword) occasionally.
Anet likes their greatswords … Play how you want, unless you want to be good, then play this one exact build.
It’s the same in PvP.
Not saying other builds can’t work, it’s just that there’s no real diversity for top level builds. ( Unless I’m wrong, enlighten me please )

No OP. Just no.
Because axe hits so often ( especially axe 5 lol ) you’d generate more might with other weapons QQ. I don’t see how that’s a problem since we already stack 25 might 100% uptime.

WvW:
GS+Axe
GS+Hammer (both defense and arms variations)
To a lesser extent GS+Mace and GS+Rifle also exist
sPvP:
GS+Longbow
GS+Hammer
Solo and non-phalanx:
GS Str+Arms+Discipline
All depends on the might generation from Forceful Greatsword, especially the PvE and hammer variants.

I roll Axe/Mace & Hammer into dungeons with my guild. Optimal sounds like a kitten word. Do rock solid dps and stay alive. Same as everybody else’s role. We clear CoF in like six minutes.
Still have a problem with those flaming balls though…

This isn’t a nerf.
Why do all warr players on these forums only want to become more OP? It’s already the most bland class that requires 0 game knowledge to play at peak levels. Packing all of their strengths into fewer traits will just exaggerate that effect and be detrimental to GW2 as a whole.
GW2’s Warrior profession is the pinnacle of poor MMO class design and it’s so embarrassing that it came out of Anet.

Warrior melee weapons already have high diversity, each weapon set have their purpose and you won’t find all build spare the same weapon choice across all game mode. What you see is the best dps support warrior role in dungeon alone.
The issue is dungeon, not warrior weapons.
If pve encounter require more CC than dps, you will see mace and hammer more often, if pve encounter require mobility dps than stacking dps, you will see axe more often.
Exept none of the meta builds use any of them. It’s GS for all of them. Might on crit is just so powerfull.

Forceful greatsword is way too powerful as a master trait. It is stronger than most GM traits in this game. The 20% cooldown reduction + might on critical should have been enough, the +10% flat dmg bonus is simply too much.
Nowadays I rarely ever see enemy warriors without a greatsword in any game mode, except WvWvW zergs where some might still run hammer/sw+wh combo, but hammer+gs combo is also very common there. Death to diversity.
Yes, forceful greatsword is too strong an ability; really needs to be split into two separate abilities just for balance reasons (having your entire class balanced around a single over-powered trait is not a good thing.)

Any issues like this could always be addressed with a 1 sec internal cooldown or something.
