Hello, i know u all will say greatsword but, i will run dual wield, so. 2x sword or 2x axe for pve ?

oh and btw, starting from lvl 1 so its for lvling

For leveling GS + Sw/WH. For the unmatched mobility. Throw in Bulls Charge too for a little extra.

Sw/Sw is more of a condition set, and Axe/Axe is full power. And you can run two weapon sets you know. I think you get the 2nd at level 7 or so.

I know you said 2x sword and 2x axe, but dual wield can also apply to combinations so I’m curious if you are considering running Axe/Mace and Axe/Sword. Axe has always been one of my favorite weapons in gw2. Both Axe/Mace and Axe/Sword are very powerful weapon sets. Mace offhand brings a high damaging line-aoe knockdown and some good vulnerability application while offhand sword brings a block, counter attack, a sword throw which stacks torment and ends with a large damaging attack.

If you insist on either 2x sword or 2x axe, I don’t really have a suggestion for you. Offhand axe is weaker than your offhand alternatives. S/S is a good set if you run pure condition with a longbow on swap, but it is really only good for solo content.

Axe Mace for fighting, and sword warhorn for gettign around and applying weakness to enemies in tougher fights.

But, as has been mentioned, GS would provide you with more mobility.

I second the comments about mace Axe/mace is amazing that vuln stacking (now mace 4 puts 10 on!!) helps with your eviscerate dmg. for a second set of dual welding sword/axe is pretty cool for mobility and axe 5 for tagging mobs. Obviously you can run s/wh when running around to give you perma speed.

Hey all and thanks for ur replys, what u guys have said there, i think i will go with the axe/mace then and then maybe s/wh for the perma speed to get faster around ? thanks again if going axe/mace, shall i just go full power or what ?

Yup. As much berserker gear as you can mange without getting yourself killed.

Basically Berserker gear is gear whose stats are primed towards the three main damage stats. Precision, Power, and Crit damage. Just look for gear with one or more of those stats. Also having a warhorn offhand does not apply the dual wielding bonus to your sword. Personally I like dual maces.

Beserker gears are not available at low lvls so just get any power gears. Axe mace is a good set for group but if you even plan to solo a hard boss or simply want to increase ur survivability, use axe sword. The sword will give u blocks on a short cooldown.

Berserker is Power > Precision = Ferocity so prioritize stats that way if you can.

As a new warrior, I would suggest trying out a few different things first, and seeing what works for you. I myself prefer Axe/Axe, but that was after trying out all the weapons and getting familiar with them. Axe/mace is one of the favorites, but that doesn’t mean you need to be locked into that, especially if you find you don’t really care for it.

As far as other gear, just take what you get get while leveling, and focus on power, as this will probably help you the most to level up.

Forgive me, but trying to settle on a weapon set when you’re level 2 is a bit naive. When I was leveling I was constantly switching up my weapons trying to find something that suited my playstyle or the situation at hand.
