Going to make a warrior what racial abilities work out best and why?

None. The only ability I’ve seen used in any serious build for any type of content are grasping roots form the Sylvari.

I haven’t looked at all of the racials, but those I have are less powerful than their profession counterparts of equal tier.

Mine is a human, but the spirit animal transformations of the Norn would be good, and as Unleashed said, the Grasping Vines from Sylvari would be good for a group build. But for the most part, you’ll really only be using warrior utility/elites since they’re by far better suited for the various combat roles of Warrior.

yeah the warrior’s abilities are way better than any racials. I do occasionally use Hounds of Balthazar, but that’s about it. The regular skills trump any racials. So just pick whatever race you want and you’ll do fine.

The armour looks really nice on humans, but the greatsword animations for asura are amazing.

I currently have a human warrior but im tempted to level an asura one with crafting now just because the animations make the warrior feel so much quicker.

If you are looking at it in terms of skills asuran are the best for radiation field and pain inverter two good skills for a condition warrior IMO. Radiation field applies poison and weakness in an aoe and warriors don’t have much access to poison so that’s a nice skill and pain inverter is three stacks of confusion aoe and also gives retaliation

If you’re using a very specific burst sword build that does more damage to bleeding foes, go with charr for a 46.5 second bleed. Otherwise, race really doesn’t matter. The racial abilities kind of blow.

In my opinion Asura has some really strong abilities. Pain Inverter was actually nerfed it was too strong, Technobauble is a little better on a ranger to abuse Moment of Clairty for a 5 second daze, Radiation Field is severely underestimated. It’s an AOE poison and weakness generator. It’s insane in WvW and GvG.

While there are good reasons to consider race in choosing a warrior, none of them have anything to do with the racial abilities.

One of the biggest problems for Warriors is that a lot of our best attacks have big, slow tells and hence are easy to dodge/block/avoid/etc. This is especially true with all Hammer skills, Sword #3 Final Thrust, and Rifle burst.

Rolling a tiny Asura warrior helps a little in that respect – they appear faster due to the much smaller swing radius (even though they aren’t actually), and smaller is harder to see in some cases.

That said, Charr warriors are just awesome, Human and Norn show armor the best, maybe Sylvari too but not certain (haven’t heard any problems with them).

Battle roar + For Great Justice + Signet Of Rage = Fury+Might stacker.

So charr for me.

But really, go for looks, as most of the racials are “meh” at best.

The only racial decision you can make that actually affects effectiveness is Asura for PVP for smaller telegraphing of abilities.

None of the racials are worth using over the Warrior utilities IMO.

So its choose based solely on looks or Asura for PVP edge.

I have a Norn 80 I use for WvW because I want to be big there as a front liner and a second lvl 2 Asura for PVP.

Asura if you plan to play the fotm mace build. Otherwise char or norn because human warriors are meh.

Lore Wise: Human, because they are the master race.

PvP Benefit Wise: Asura, Hard to dodge what you can’t see.

Well I’ve always seen the Sylvari as a strong Warrior class, at least if you play with conditions. The Sylvari has two abilities summoning flowers, those shoot seeds with 1stack of bleed each for 10sec. If you take into consideration our deep wound increasing the bleeding duration by 50% you get a whole 5 extra tics out of each shots. And they also have a weaker version of entangle, wich can be used to land hundred blades or a Skullcrack, or just land something powerfull enough to take your opponent down.

Azura are also good, they have a poison field, wich can be synergies with our many finishers to get extra poison duration or weakness debuff out of it. And their technobable is an additional interupt for confusion builds.

Charrs have the Schrapnel mine wich is a AoE snare for 5sec and 2 bleeds for 20sec (base) duration wich synergies very well with the longbow, sinds it lacks proper movement hinders beside of a single root every 25sec. The Warband support, doesn’t deal much damage and isn’t very tough. But the Marksman NPC has a mine that Hardknocks ennemies around 3-4sec, and he use it twice during the call.

Well, and the Norns, well they have an owl with a long bleed duration, and become the wolf, wich is a transformation that I never recommend anyone to use, at least for PvP. And even so, its utility is very limited, even a backdraw, when you use it for PvE.

Finaly, the Humans have the hounds of Balthazar, wich are pretty amazing if you are running a none condition build.

I’ve used become the bear on my norn warrior. All things considered, it’s probably not a great choice, but running half way across the WvW map in a few seconds can be kind of fun.
