If you need “Armor” or Toughness so much just so you can react on Warrior, then you will NEVER get the best results on any build that you play

Most current warrior specs are equally viable when compared to eachother. We don’t have a one size fits all build like the other classes however and finding the right one for your scenario is most important.

You shouldn’t even be attempting to fight mesmers or eles at the moment if you want to win, unless you’re sure you can outplay them. Otherwise, hammer gs works fine.

I’d also say GS Hammer still, even more after the patch. It receiver many buffs (Zerker’s power, Stick and Move, Forceful GS, Warrior’s Sprint) as opposed to only one nerf (not being able to pick MH and BM). Other warrior roaming builds did not get buffed near as much IMO.

GSHam is also a bit easier to play in full zerk right now IMO, because you get the double EP.

In WvW Body Blow/Distracting strikes builds are pretty ridiculous. Throw Rampage on top of any Warrior build for max cheese.

it really depends on situation and your purpose. If you look for decent dueling build in wvw, I recommend gs/hammer.

However, when it comes to zerg vs zerg or 5vs5 conquest pvp, stance warrior doesnt do that much good, even with rampage, as compared to shout warrior because the healing and condi removal and banner rez that shout warrior’s support capacity really benefits overall team fight and the arena is about team fight.

so it depends on you. If you focus on team fight and want to bring a win to your whole team, then go shout war. Or go stance war with gs/hammer weapon set if you just like to roam alone.

If you look for build that is both good at dueling and support, visit my twitch below then there is a wvw build called “Great King”, but it is only available to wvw users since zealot trinket is only available in wvw but not spvp.

if you go shout war in spvp i recommend you run settler over celestial since dmg output across the game now is too high thus you won’t be able to survive with celestial. Also shout healing nerf made celestial useless in terms of supportive as well. So, check “Shout King” in my twitch as well.

But be sure that my build, or any other person’s builds, is obviously not best, so you have to determine by yourself about what is best in your specific situation.

Those “nubs” might as well be GvG players. GS warriors for melee bombs are pretty popular now.

Depending on comp, I expect you could also use gs warriors to maintain a lot of might for the zerg beyond the initial stack using PS. One bladetrail into a blob would be a crazy amount of might for a lot of people, so would a Whirlwind.

Don’t know that it’d be optimal, but it could be perfectly viable. Especially now that tankiness is a matter of gear choice.

Personally I’d rather bring something useful to the party other than just straight damage. GS Warriors are seemingly so popular I hardly see shout warriors anymore (on my server anyway).

Mostly PvE people who cba switching gear out for WvW.

You could try GS/ + Axe/Shield with stances and Rampage. Shield gives another invuln which really helps against Mesmers/Thieves that try and bait out your Endure Pain, and also gives a source of range when traited. You could also switch out some of your zerker trinkets for knights if you want more toughness and precision. Perhaps something like this .

Shout Heal War FTW!

I tend to lean towards Valkyrie armor set with Rune of the pack. War horn sword, longbow. Using Zerker trinkets , except for the rings which are cleric, I can do decent shout heal party wide, and save my own kitten in the process. It also allows for 10-15 k crits with final thrust. War horn condi removal, shout heals, and signet of rage. For “grape juicetice” and signet also give a 20% crit chance. The burst skills crit decently as well. Rune of the pack gives speed boon duration so warhorn speed boost recharges before the boon runs out. Great fun for pve.

How are dual axes looking for PvE? Greatsword seems slightly weaker to me then previously – so many irrelevant options when speccing for them.

Was thinking of trying two axes if the expansion ever hits. The problem is that the coolest axe relevant trait available, 15% increased attack speed, seems buried behind two mandatory condition boosting choices – which are kind of pointless on a zero-condition weapon.

The goal is to kill things. Axes are able to kill things. Ergo: axes are viable. Greatsword is more efficient (in group scenarios) though.
