See title. And yes, I am aware most people will just say “reroll” lol
So, I’m sure I speak for a lot of people when I say I’m sitting on all zerker gear (ascended in my case) which, normally, works just fine. However mobs and events are a pain in the kitten now and I’m finding myself camping in longbow frequently just because I’m liable to get instagibbed when I want to swap to greatsword (especially true for those legendary wyverns).
I’ve been considering condi builds (since having one will be necessary for the upcoming raid anyways) that will double as general pvp as well as dungeon/fractal builds with minimal changes (meaning swapping weapons/utilities at the most).
Just something I’ve tossed together and would like some feedback on. Parts I’m definitely unsure about is whether torch and the bonus 150 condi while in torch is worth losing the torment and block from offhand sword. As well as runes, which I’m in a toss up between undead, scavenging, or the new Berserker runes (not yet sure how to even get those). For obvious reasons this is a crit and condi damage centric build, with power due to the Great Fortitude trait in Strength. Though the HP difference is negligible when swapping between rabid and sinister armor/accessories, the toughness difference is pretty substantial between the two.
Anyways, I’m rambling and probably boring everyone already. What are y’alls thoughts?
Well I play solo warrior, so I find GSword + LBow gets me the most bang for my buck. I got mobility, might generation, solid melee damage, and a long range option.
Running melee only would be rough, a lot of the new enimies have CC, but I suppose if you are amazing at dodging it could work.
m just running the same builds as pre HoT
your build might work for pve, but i wouldn’t run it.

Running the standard GS build with a Long Bow. I also take Shake it Off now since the lack of a stunbreaker was getting me killed too often.
I’m using Berserker in PvE just to get my money’s worth. The gimmick has already gotten old.
PvP and WvW, no change from before.
using druid in pvp, shoutbow is dead and rest of the builds isn’t viable there
Arms / Defense / Discipline.
Really dislike the Berserking mechanic. Rapid adrenaline degeneration + short duration makes it a chore to use in PvE. It doesn’t offer enough benefit and is too spammy. Wish it was similar to the Death Shroud mechanic….
Probably just gonna play my necro, which really kittenes me off because I releveled my warrior just because I had intended on playing it in HoT, and then this kitten happens.

Longbow only with Shoutheals and Condition/Precision/Toughness Equipp.
100% Burn Duration and the Damage is acceptable for the Tradeoff.
Fast hands is futile and dont miss it.
The reduces Pizza condition Duration is bleeh. I need the new Berserkertalent and cant change my 20% Duration Sigil. The New Equip with Condi duration must be checked but Sword is bad like always, Bleeding sucks as maindamage.

Full Sinister + Giver Longbow
Basically I’m running a damage-oriented hybrid build. I use shield because I like them aesthetically but the block and stun have proven very useful in the jungle because of break bars and high mob density.
It’s a very fun build. Not optimal, I’m sure, but I’ve been able to solo most of the HoT content in VB and Auric Basin aside from hero points and large group events.
Currently playing around with Condi Berserker,
Full Rabid Gear (Rune of the Undead)
Sword+Torch (Sigil of Earth & Geomancy / Longbow (Sigil of Blight & Doom)
Arms: 2-2-2
Discipline: 2-3-3
Berserker: 2-2-2
Healing Signet, Sundering Leap, Shattering Blow, Outrage, Signet of Rage
So far I just couldn’t sacrifice Arms nor Discipline, Arms brings too much damage into the table, and Discipline brings Mobile Strikes, Fast Hands, Adrenaline sustain which gives the ability to spam Primal Bursts more fluidly.
I’ve foregone defense and rely mostly on toughness and proper dodging to survive. In PvP i mostly just bank that I can kill the opponent first, I rely mostly on Sword and use LB as a filler in my rotations. Its been working out for me so far both in PvP and PvE, really could be better. Sword 2, Sundering Leap and the speedboost from mobile strikes really brings much mobility to the table for me can’t give them up, still miss GS 3. =/ Anyway the damage is ok in PvE, In PvP we can stack it as fast as they remove it but I still find Eles, Necros and Guards real tough with this build.. rest is fine. I could still fare better with a power build in full Berserker Gear. I miss the Stances.. speceally Berserker’s Stance, Anyway thats just me, I’m having fun, so far its not that bad, for me at least.
For power builds.. it just sucks.. =p It just makes you a worse Warrior. =/
Also note some Berserker mechanics are still quite buggy, so far these are what I’ve encountered.
- Primal Burst (Any): Sometimes Primal Burst skills will suddenly be on cooldown when they shouldn’t be, it seems random.
- Blaze Breaker: Sometimes won’t cast when in melee range of enemies. Also Blaze Breaker seems to only hit 3x at most, contrary to the 5x in its description.
- Shattering Blow: Sometimes it doesn’t aim at the target and hits in strangely different directions..

Amen to that..
sPvP/WvW perspective. Its just.. far less survivable and kills slower than our regular power build, since a lot of the other classes has great condition clears on low cooldowns, also conditions take time to stack on opponents, time that we don’t have since Berserker really doesn’t cover any of our original weaknesses which are conditions and being kited to death.
It streamlines us into sacrificing some of our core traits and skills to run it but doesn’t do justice to doing so.
I just hope they do some much needed tweaking after getting HoT all fixed up. I’m still hopeful.
In terms of sPvP I’ve been trying out zerker mace/torch+sword/shield. It’s been working quite nicely. Teamfight wise it’s relatively weak, but dueling is nutty. I’ve been able to drop people absurdly quick after I get into zerk mode and Skull Grinder them. Rarely do I even need to trigger it twice.
So is Berserk not even worth bothering with?
If we’re talking PVE Berserker is still decent and you can totally still run full zerk – just treat it a little like PvP and slot the only defensive utilities we have (read: stances). Endure Pain, charge in and go ham.
I use zeker condi build but with marauder amulet,i just take all condies as extra 10% dmg
I look at it as just an upgrade for my mace/ shield and i have s/t as second weapon set.
Rage skill r dissapointment accept that 10s stun breaker:(
