Hi,

I took a trait nammed “Merciless Hammer” who give me +25% damages on disabled targets.
I made a lot of tests and then :
On clean target : 400damage
On immobilized target : 400damage
On crippled target : 400damage
On knockdown target : 400damage
On weaknessed target : 400damage

I searched on http://gw2skills.net/ and no condition or crowd-control have this name.

Does someone know what “disabled” mean ?

Im pretty sure it works, tested. 700 hit and 1350 crit on a heavy training unit. After using Earthshaker (stun) or Backbreaker (knockdown), hit 850 and crit 1600. It didnt work on Hammer shock (immobilized) so disabled should mean, whenever someone loses control over their character. It does however, apply only to hammers and not maces.

Ok thank you for the info.

Also the Backbreaker tooltip say 2s knockdown but i find the knockdown is ridiculously short, less than 2s.
Am i the only one ?

I cant really say, im not playing hammer spec. Take into consideration the animations, lag, and possible passive and active traits or skills that reduce stun and knockdown durations.

I agree the knock down time is very short, all I use are hammers and master the skill but notice that the knock down should count for just a second or two longer.

The problem with Backbreaker is that

a) The animation takes forever

b) It takes forever for you to “snap out” of the attack and be able to use another attack.

So you’ll never really get the damage bonus from Merciless Hammer.

I can do thirty Five-Dolyak Arm Curls.

Do you even lift, bro?

I got new Hammer Build that im sticking to, and found great. Another aspect of merciless hammer is that it works well when chain stunning/knockdown, and earthshaker applies stun before dmg, so that gives the 25% dmg to hammer on that attack. Normally i can chain Earthshaker → Staggering blow → Bulls Charge → Back Breaker → Fierce blow for maximum dps from that trait or I go Earthshaker → Frenzy → auto attack 2-3 times into staggering/bulls/backbreaker for the 50% crit chance from unsuspecting foe during auto-attack phase. Hammer biggest weakness is blinds/aegis =\ though.

This exactly,if you pop 5 and then 4 right after….hah ! ( same goes for 2 – 4 ) good luck, that swing will take ages, and i really think they should have a close look to the animations of warriors hammer skills, especially when followed up by one or the other, its just to slow and you get like an extra 0.5 – 1 sec delay when your skill actually pops,if it ever finished the animation of the previous used skill.

And yes,its because of this that Merciless hammer becomes quite useless when your soloing.YOu have to be dependant of other peopple around you, disabling your targets before Merciless hammeer gets effective.Since our knock downs and disble skills, just do not last long enough to be usefull for this Trait.

Disabled = stun, daze, float, knock down, launch, knock back, sink, or fear”

As others have explained, “disabled” is what’s known in other games as “hard CC” – things that temporarily remove your ability to control your character. Mostly this means Stun and Knockdowns (which, for all intents and purposes, count as a form of stun). In theory it should also include Fears, but I’m not sure.

Generally, anything that is removed by stunbreakers is a disable.
Stun, daze, knockback, knockdown, knockleft, knockright, knock knock who’s there, etc.

hammer has 3 “disabling” skills earthshaker backbreaker and the push back skill. in order to get the dmg buff off the push back skill however as soon as you knock them back you have to run up to them and hit them with say the #2 skill
