I’m tired of the old Greatsword or Axes thing, and I want to mix it up and try conditions on a Warrior for a while.

I’m assuming I would use Longbow and Sword/Sword? These weapons seem to have the most condition damage (bleeding and burning). I see that Rifle also causes bleeding, but it seems that burning does more damage and that Longbow is better for AOE.

So what would my traits and gear look like? What about Runes and Sigils? Is extending the length of the conditions most important, or is raw condition damage more important? (Conditions cannot crit, which sort of stinks IMO.)

As I stated, this would be for PVE and MAYBE Dungeons as well, but I don’t do WvW or PVP. Thanks for your ideas.

They look like a pile of excrements in dungeon GROUPS. You can still use sword Offhand and longbow very efficiently in a full power/precision/crit damage build. Just don’t do dungeons with a full condition warrior if you want to not be laughed at or are okay with being subpar as hell.

What does a PVE condition warrior look like? To most of the population of GW2 it looks like a waste of a party slot, but in all seriousness warrior isn’t that great for conditions. For armor you’d probably be best off in rabid, as for traits I have no idea. And apart from using longbow to stack burns in the beginning you probably wont want to swap back from s/s because you’ll lose your bleed stacks which do more than burning. Compared to phys. damage warrior, condi warrior sounds more boring just standing there auto attacking with sword. And a solid balance between condi duration and condi damage is important. You want enough duration to be able to keep your stacks at a good amount (mostly through traits/runes) and then put the rest into damage. Also superior sigil of corruption for stacks of 10 condi damage on 1 sword and superior sigil of agony on the other sword.

actually , of or when they put condition caps for individual players not for the whole group , condition warriors will be viable as they can stack 25 bleeds in 2 seconds . Donot underestimate condition damage , especially on bosses .

This is mine for WvWvW and solo pve (6sec fear is a lot of fun):

IF you dare to play a condi warrior in pve other then solo i would suggest brace yourself – peole will not like it beause especially warrior has a suspected role to fill beeing a dps monster.

the main problem with condi warrior is that he is really good a stacking bleeds and keeping them on the target as long as he can melee – as are many other classes essentially reducing their effectivness and group effectivness overall.

If you’re going to go Condi warrior in PvE, you should probably go Asura, for NO other reason than the fact that you get access to long duration poison through the Racial skill which is ACTUALLY pretty cool. Other than that, warriors can be a lot of fun, bleeds just end up stacking in groups through ally passive attacks which can really suck up your damage potential.

Hello,

Conditions builds for warriors provide high resistance, high DoT but low direct damage, which means that:

  • When you meet mobs that are invulnerable to conditions, like some undead, you’ll have to run,
  • When fighting mobs, it’ll take (way) more time to kill them than with a high direct damage build.

So basically, conditions builds work in a certain way, and end up being less efficient than direct damage builds in PvE, which is why they are not regarded as good by the community.

On the other end, in WvW, fights are much more competitive, with opponents moving more, attacking more and protecting themselves more, so condition builds can really shine there.

FYI, since you asked, condition builds usually are made of:

  • Gears: rabid or dire, with Melandru or Undead runes,
  • Weapons: longbow and sword, with offhand weapon being either another sword, a shield or a warhorn,
  • Traits: at least 20 in Defense (Dogged March, Cleansing Ire), 10 in Arms (Deep Cuts), the rest varying across builds,
  • Skills: Healing Signet (conditions builds are usually working with regeneration), Dolyak Signet and Signet of Rage (possibly improved through “Signet Mastery”).

Have fun.

superior runes of scavenging work too. I prefer undead myself for the extra toughness. Not sure why anyone would use this in PvE when it’s much more fun to kill other players with it though.
