My warrior playstyle is a frontline Soldier’s warrior in wvw, with Hammer/sword+WH, i do not run shouts however and most likely never will.
I ran around with signets and stances and it was great, because you can jump in and ignore all damage and condis for sometime while you lay down your Aoe cc and damage then get outa dodge before endure pain runs out, but the main problem i had was that hammer cooldowns (while great) left room for a rotation gap once you exhaust those cooldowns.
When i tried the berserker i had to sacrifice one of my trait lines to get the zerker, what i got for this however was so much more of what i needed, like more stun breaks, faster adrenaline buildup up to the point where i have an excess of it, and most importantly many leaps (i.e you physically leap not do a leap finisher) with great Aoe potential and decent cooldowns that perfectly fit the visceral combat conditions of wvw zerg fights, there hasn’t been a single moment where i was out of a skill to use that doesn’t build adrenaline, break stun, does Aoe dmg, or leaps.
The question is though, do i REALLY have to be sacrificing some survivability in favor of additional damage, or what i’m seeing is a different form of damage mitigation, only time will tell, but from what i can see, zerker offers additional tools that allow the warrior to stay in combat longer IF he can learn to mitigate damage with something other than healing and invulns.
