I don’t see any team running a warrior besides one or two (maybe?) what role can warriors achieve that other classes can’t do better?

I feel like its a middle ground between thief roamer and guardian. Most of the warriors abilities also have a huge telegraph saying hey im about to stun you, dodge now.

So in my experience we really have 3 roles.

1) Team Roamer:
Warrior’s work really really well when paired with another person. A lot of people see the speed of a Warrior and go ‘ok! I can push far point, and go home, and go mid, and get side buffs and and and’ when in reality they should just be supporting existing nodes where you have another teammate to feed off of.

2) Sudo Back Point: Warriors are almost as good as thiefs in terms of mobility. We’ve been running me as a sudo back point and having our spirit ranger in the fight. Once my team calls out the enemy thief etc. is down or at another node, I can start back capping or help at a fight. Due to my speed I can generally make it back to a point before a thief can decap.

3) Team fight Peeler.
With enough burst pressure or stuns / Immobolizes, one of your primary jobs is to peel for your squishier teammates (thiefs, engis, necros). This puts the enemy on the defensive backfoot and lets your teammates free cast high damage AoE.

With hammer mace/shield you can lock people down and help your team both offensively and defensively that way and then there’s the sword/longbow build that brings really strong AoE condition damage. There are a few other builds that work well but those are more selfish allowing you to do more damage but bring less to your team.

Team fights.

Warriors have a lot of cleave, strong CC, and solid burst, all of which can work wonders in small skirmishes. You can peel off allies, burst down opponents, stop people trying to stomp/res, and put out solid AoE damage while doing all of the above.

Most of our abilities work much better in concert with other classes as well. Teammates locking down a target? Go go hundred blades. Rogue looking to set up burst? Mace stun to lock someone down for them. Come in late to a fight, where your opponents are distracted by your teammates? You can turn the fight around quickly with a hammer.

Other classes can support their team, certainly, but not in quite the same way as a warrior can. We make other classes better by fighting alongside them, allowing them to do more of whatever it is they do best… that’s what I’ve seen, at least.

I’m quoting this for the utmost truth. A lot of people gauge the warrior out of 1v1 speculation, however during team fights a warrior’s team will most often win. That’s why my first priority in any havoc group is to focus-target the warrior first. Whether they’re burst or bunker, they’re the sticky glue that holds a team together because of our versitality in being able to adapt to our team mates and increase both their and our own effectiveness, if that makes sense.
