Guild Wars 2

Right now i’m running with sword and axe (i’m 35lvl btw). I like sword with his bleeding and jump, also 3d skill is nice, but kinda slow. But i feel that axe is bad choice here and want to chage it. Right now i need something for PVE and i can’t choose what exactly need for me to increase my DPS.

Also i’m thinking about Hammer, but i’m not sure about it’s DPS. Also i don’t like it’s 4th skill.

Any suggestions?

Greatsword and Axe/X give the best DPS in PvE.

I prefer axe in most situations, especially in PvE as it still has higher DPS than the other main hand weapons. Personally i prefer axe mace for the vulnerability stacks.

Hammer is so so in PvE, as you don’t really need the CC it provides. Certainly not worth switching out greatsword for it.

For raw melee DPS, you’ll want to run Greatsword. PvE foes are teh stupid, and will stand still for 100b, which does tremendous damage.

Axe mainhand does nice damage. The burst is strong. Offhand can be defensive (shield) utility (warhorn) or more offense (axe or mace). For wandering around in PvE I actually love Axe/Warhorn, Axe puts out all the damage you need vs PvE mooks, and Warhorn lets you run around a lot faster with swiftness if you didnt get war sprint trait.

Hammer is more of a PvP weapon. It’s DPS is middle of the road, but its control (stun/knockdown/knockback) is what makes it powerful. In PvE it’s decent but just not the best.

For PvE @ lvl 35 I’m assuming you’re referring to leveling and doing world events. Axe+Shield / Sword+Warhorn should do nicely.
