Hello, I am a returning player having difficulty choosing a main class to stick to. I have given Elementalist and Engineer a shot, and while good fun and effective I dislike quite a few things about them both. I was going to choose either guardian or warrior, having both at 80 very near launch and not played since then. I want to focus on Fractals, specifically being super beneficial to my team during them. A friend told me warrior was the best choice due to might stacking, but I’m not so sure. Please help!

If you are new, play Guardian. If you’re a good player, play Warrior.

And if you’re a good player wanting to play Warrior that doesn’t have a team of condition removal classes or healers…. Play Guardian!

These guys post these videos of them being pocket healed and having conditions stripped while they beat on someone. Warrior drop like flies!

Warrior is fun and can do decent damage, Blacktruth will try and have you get hits on his twitch feed so he can be relevant.

Don’t take my word! Head to the other forums and ask how hard it is to kill a Warrior, I bet they’ll still be laughing tomorrow.. Warriors can Buffbot, LB attack like a Ranger, or run in smash bash and die.

We do not have any protections, even if you spec all defensive abilities. We need help, until the devs change us some we are easily killed. If you got a premade, then you can pretty good, the from what I’ve seen is having other help (carry ) you!

I was told by some experienced players that in high end fractals dps doesn’t matter as much as utility and support, and I know that warriors are mandatory for their might stacks, but beyond that one thing I haven’t heard anything else. But everyone seems to take a guardian too

I’ve had a Guardian at 80 and now play a warrior at 80. Of the 2, I am definitely in support of the Warrior over the Guardian. What you may lack in utility you will make up for in down right destructive power. Some will say I’m wrong, but equally geared, from my experience, Warriors are the best bet.

It doesn’t matter what other players prefer because everyone has different taste. You should play the class that you find most enjoyable. Both guardians and warriors are viable in all game modes. I started this game as a guardian. Now my main is a warrior. Warrior to me by far is more fun to play. I like the aggressive style and mobility. Guardians are more defensive minded. You won’t know which style you prefer until u main both.

At the very most 1 warrior should all any fractal team should consider taking if it’s an organised run trying to optimize team comp. Fights in fractals usually last long enough so that banners are worth it.

Besides banner of strength, banner of discipline, and phalanx strength, warrior is essentially worthless for any other purpose. This hasn’t changed much, however we’ve also had our personal DPS lowered from above average to below average within the past year and that’s presumably because for some reason they wanted to get people to stop playing the class as much for whatever reason.

Warriors bring no utility other than passive offensive support, while guardians bring loads of defensive utility.

It all depends on what you prefer. Neither classes are capable of dealing very good damage really. If high personal DPS is in your interests, look in the direction of elementalist/thief.

The main issue is that warrior is just so much worse than it used to be. The offensive support is just as valuable as it once was but the personal DPS is very, very underwhelming.

Hopefully this will clarify things for you.

I’ll admit, I did some explorable paths last night with a guardian in the party. Warrior/Guard team is amazing. I prefer Warrior, but a Guardian in a party is pretty fun to team with.

warrior is pve easy mode, you can pick up easily, but if you plan to play this game for a long time, i don’t suggest either of them, maybe wait for the new class?
