Eclesa – Engineer
Primordial Dragons
I know it’s pretty early, but I just wanted to to discuss what awesome weapons it’d be cool to have in GW2 for warriors to use.
Knuckles. How sick would it be to just maul your enemies to death?
Spears. I was so sad that you couldn’t use spears on land :(
And we already know 2H-axes are a must, heh.
2H Axe is like an absolute must!
I certainly wouldn’t mind something like a melee staff either
K, I got this!
all your idea’s are super cool and all…
I have no doubt the coolest kitty on the block
A GONG! Like the dredge use in the level 25-35 zone. Seriously, it’d be super support heavy, throwing out boons and AoE conditions around you, and here’s the kick!!
Make the skills the 4-5 slots yeah? Now your main hand controls what those #4-5 are, so say axe gives might/speed/vigor or something, while mace gives protection/vigor/something?
Haven’t thought that part out to much yet, but think about it that would add SO much to the warrior class. Just something that I think would be an easy (already partialy implemented to game) and VERY fun addition to the warrior (and engineer?) class.
EDIT: Or maybe the #5 is a permanent Gong ability, and just the #4 is affected by the main weapon?
Axes focus around dps, so giving Might and vigor to allies, while weakening nearby enemies?
Hammer is more defensive, so Protection and Regen? Vuln to nearby enemies?
Sword is condition(?) so Swiftness and Something else? While cripple to enemies?

Glaive/polearm type weapon, just because love the look of them! It would be a melee aoe weapon.
Pole-arm, Two-Handed Axe, A none bleed based sword, and an Elite Weapon: Brosideon’s Trident!
Two-handed axes definitely. I would really love it if they put a Lance/Pole-arm/Spear type weapon to use on land.
^ Agree with all of the above, would love the Glaives
No love for the spiked chain/bladed chain a la D&D trip fighter? Bladed gauntlets/knuckles would be a welcome addition too, but I would tremendously love to see polearms of any sort come about.
Now that I think about it, incorporating the staff but for physical use could be interesting as well, in the same way a ranger uses a torch as a stick with fire on the end of it. Even modifications to existing one handers to span an entire bar would be welcome, though that may be encroaching on thief territory. This is just dreaming now, but even stances that change how the existing weapons are held/carried and how they would allow some different abilities would get a lot of mileage without having to create entirely new weapon groups.
2h Polearms, 2h Axes, Javelins, Pistols, there are really many options for expansions and such.
A Polearm type weapon could focus on defence, with attacks that grant boons such as retaliation, protection and stability and maybe something similar to the thief spear skill “nine tailed strike”. It would be a defensive weapon.
2h Axe could differ from other current 2h weapons by focusing on powerful but single-target skills.
We definitely don’t need anything new any time soon however.
I have to say 2h axe would fit nicely and F2 F3 F4 would be nice.
2H Axes, ofc.
Already posted this in the suggestions forum.
I dont even know why they let them out, since it perfectly fits between Hammer and GS ;-)
Clicked on this expecting to see EVERYONE saying something about “ummmm 2Handed Axe please!”
Got exactly what I expected this time… no surprise there, nevertheless I am here now and feel compelled to point out the PAINFUL NEED for 2h axes -_- Seriously out of the 2hand options they are generally my favorite among all RPGs, Greatswords are already painfully in demand and seem better on both guardian and warrior over great hammers
Apart from that Halberds/Polaxes/Glaives (call it what you want) would be amazing, Imagine something that played like a Dragoon from final fantasy? AAA+ That would make me cream.
1h spear (mainhand only)
spear + shield = THIS IS TYRIA!!!
I desperatly want scythes again!!! nothings more bad ace then the weapon of death itself!!
- 2 Hand Axe. ofc.
- Large Shield. more group oriented, grant aoe protection or retaliation.
- Morning Star kind of weap. a weapon with 300-400 range and maybe a pull..
- DAoC Savage Hand to Hand Weap. single target high mobility high burst
Land spears (1h/2h)
CLUBS
2H axe
Knuckles
Before they add more weapons I’d really like to have “I will Avenge you” back…
1H spear (ala Romans, Greeks)
Javelin (1H ranged)
Polearm makes sense, could have variety of them even (bill hook & pike would be very different, for example)
Flail (1H & 2H would both be possible)
Dagger (Any warrior should know how to fight with a dagger, could just let them equip it as a weaker 1H sword in a pinch, main hand and/or offhand)
Polearm & Katana
Some form of 1handed ranged attack like pistol/javelin/sling to go with warhorn. Most possible options would be rather short ranged (600? 900?) for a ranged attack. Could even be the torch… throwing burning torches everywhere, now that would be some pillaging fun!
One handed spear and a shield in offhand for a spartan style look and some aoe skills with a bit of support.
Dual Wielding WHIPS!
now that would be bad kitten
1) Not a weapon, but I’d like to see multiple types of shields — for example, a kite-shield is purely defensive with some limited stun capability, but a small buckler can provide actual offense in some situations. Would be nice to see skills based around different types of shields.
2) Actual weapons; whip would be a good off-hand ranged weapon. I would also like to see a sword-breaker (essentially a defensive weapon that can be used to destroy your oponents weapon or twist it out of their hands).
Would love 1h Flails
Polearm , spear…something long! LoL
Katana
No need to add them as a seperate class, we already have swords. Japanese style swords will be added if we ever go to Cantha, they were there in Guild Wars 1.
Hand and half swords would be awesome. Act like a two handed weapon if equiped alone but a 1 handed sword if equipped with something else.
Maybe I feel like something a bit more out there actually. How about Chains? Chains can be considered a weapon right?
Halberd
Spear
Staff
Polearm
Javelin
Something along those lines.
Two-handed Axes, please!
