Guild Wars 2

So I main an 80 Guardian on GW2, have since launch, and am not entirely happy with it.

Here’s my style: I like playing aggressive ‘duelist’ characters who are focused on dominating in 1v1. My playstyle is a sort of direct [hence why thieves don’t appeal to me], brawler-oriented class who is focused on slugging it out with one enemy at a time. My Guardian, no matter how offensively I build him, still seems to be more group-oriented than anything.

I’m fully aware that maybe I’m just not building my guardian right. Typically, I use a greatsword/sword-torch build.

Long story short, I’m trying to ask people who have played warriors, guardians, or both: which class am I better off with if I want a character who is very focused on winning 1v1 fights and assaulting points?

Either go 100b and win a fight every 60 seconds or roll longbow/axe and burst higher and faster every 10 seconds and if you see a group coming at you, dont turn and run, pop everything and jump in thier with ur tornado and a giant middle finger.

Hmm both can win imo depending on how you play it. Warriors do way more damage than guardians but guardians have better healing/survival/block skills.

Bunkers are focused on surviving burst damage and turning the fight into one of attrition. Warriors are usually focused on dealing burst damage and don’t handle fights of attrition well. So in that case you’d be hoping that you do your job better than he does his.

Guardians are good at sustained damage, but that’s just letting the bunker set the pace of the match to something he’s comfortable with.

It’s probably better to go warrior and focus on being a skilled one that doesn’t blow all his cooldowns while the bunker has his best defenses still online.
