I am still new, and level 22 Warrior now. I have no interest in PVP or WVW. My son and I play this just to explore the beautiful world of Tyria and to kill monsters
(He has a 20 Charr Warrior, mine is Human.)
Anyway, my 3 favorite weapons with Warrior are Greatsword (duh), Longbow, and Axes. I’ve recently been experimenting with Axe/Mace instead of Axe/Axe, based on what I have read here in the forums.
For PVE, assuming my son and I went with Greatsword and Axe/Mace, I’m wondering which of these would do more damage as we level. (Again, realize that we are new and practically broke, so we don’t have uber gear. We usually just buy all the + Power stuff we can from the TP) Also, do not assume we are grouping together. We only have one account.
30/10/0/0/30 – This is a tradtionally advised setup that I see. We do run with 2 or 3 signets usually (lazy I know), so we take the added Precision trait. At max level that last 30 there gives + 15% crit chance with full adrenaline (and adrenaline fills up quickly with the 30 points and also Axe auto and hundred blades). On a side note it seems the Axe bust attack is better than greatsword. Is this correct?
30/10/0/10/20 – I saw this advice recently, which utilizes “Empower Allies” to give an additional 150 power to everyone, including myself. This is more “group friendly”, though I rarely group, but it would result in about 6-7% more damage for us, and a slightly larger health pool. What we lose though is 10% crit damage, gaining Might on Weapon swap, and 15% extra crit chance when at full adrenaline.
So which of these two would be best for us as we level up to 80 in PVE only? Which is probably going to dish out damage faster?
