Was done with no buffs or statuses of any kind.
crippled frozen or quickened attacks shorten the length (usually to your advantage) but ive never seen it shortened without.
Same. Go to the Statue of Dwayna between the bank and BLTP in DR. I used the Walkway in the center of them which is just in front of the statue. I would start in one spot and just whirlwind back and forth normally by the 5th or 6th time im no longer where i started.

I feel it should be pointed out that unless you’re using some kind of aid, it’s virtually impossible to use the ability in the exact opposite direction on each successive whirlwind due to the nature of the manual targeting. As such, your vector on each use is likely to include some displacement along the axis orthogonal to your intended direction of travel.
Thus, if you were using some kind of boundary markers to track your position, it’s reasonable to expect that you would not reach it in each instance since you would gain a bit of “side-to-side” motion each time.
Aside from that, it’s always possible that any network lag may result in these kind of oddities.

This is exactly why when someone on my shared connection is downloading, I don’t use movement skills to catch up to a Commander.
Lag really cripples a Warrior’s movement, Whirling Attack & Savage Leap more than rush

Yeah was noticing a lot of lag earlier for me. Since i couldn’t do much i just messed with it some more to see and it seems that lag was the main cause of it.
