Who here going to miss their build?
The only build warrior loses is rifle and power based dual wielding builds. Neither one of them were that great.
There was a couple changes like that you cant now take last stand and cleansing ire but most of the new traitlines dont have so many terrible choices.

No I didn’t say anything about builds being better or worst. Just different.
Share your old builds so we can all remember how things were, 3 + years from now.
Usually in MMOs the gameplay features change greatly over time. I remember Old AV in Vanilla WoW, and it’s much radically different from AV in today’s WoW. Not much info exist on the net regarding the old AV.
This post is for saving memories of the old system to look back on in the future when things radically change.
I’ll miss using Rousing Resilience, because of its placement in the same tier as Cleansing Ire – I’m an average player, and the trait definitely helped me play pure berserker builds without worry
Uh. I don’t think any warriors really cared for the old system. You were basically forced into the same traits and builds all the time. The changes are not so radical that anyone is going to miss their old build because all the new builds based on the old ones are better. Hope OP you realize this. If not than i dont even know.

My build got rolled into 2 trait lines, so I’m getting almost only buffs.
Current Build:
Sword/Shield, Longbow. Knights armor, Rabid trinkets and weapons.
Dolyak Runes, Sigil of Corruption/Fire & Blood/Rage (never bothered trying to figure out a better one)
Arms: Deep Cuts, Furious Speed, Furious
Defense: Shield Master, Cleansing Ire, Defy Pain
Discipline: Signet Master
Healing Sig, FGJ, Berseker Stance, Balanced Stance, Signet Mastery
I usually switch for 2 banners in dungeons and go full rabid in pvp, but it’s served me well in all game modes since launch (and the introduction of CI). A tanky, hybrid-ish war. I have ~3.8k armor, ~21k hp, ~50% crit chance without my almost perm fury, 8-11 might stacks solo, and about 1k condi damage.
My new build: http://dulfy.net/gw2traits#build=AggCuANYBGg~
Currently not planning on swaping gear, but I may depending how the stat changes look, I think I’ll be able to lose a good deal of precision thanks to sig mastery.
I lose:
Perma combat swiftness
17% bleed duration (this and the swiftness are what make me the most sad)
5% damage to bleeding foes
~240 power (this and other changes may force me into more condi)
5 adrenaline on weapon swap
300 precision, condi damage, toughness, healing power and 100 ferocity
I gain:
1s cd on my burst skills
Precise Strikes: +1 sec base bleed (total bleed duration increased from kitten to 5.32s)
Healing sig gives 6 sec of resistance
100 precision for 1 min each time I use a sig
Free sig of might (and 100 precision) every 20 sec
33% chance to vuln on crit
10 condi damage (max 250) every time I attack
Blocking grants might, and reflects
~33% uptime on retail
Plus I get a whole extra trait line.
While the minors in Tactics are unimpressive at best (2 revive traits and neither grant revive speed?), I think it gives better party support than discipline. I’m curious how Inspiring Presence will work. It will help recover ~20-30% of the healing power I lost, and provide a tidbit of group support. Honestly, the main reason I want it is for burning arrows.
I did the math, and 3 stacks of burning with 0 condi damage already does more damage than the current burn with 0 condi damage. So, 2 stacks of burning on the auto with the chance to still projectile finish for more burns, the burst burns getting buffed to 5s long, and the #2 getting also buffed in duration, plus the potential extra 250 condi damage I’ll have from Furious means that my lb will back a big punch. Healing shouts also would be pretty cool to toy around with as well, that should make up for the potential healing I’m losing from healing sig.
Discipline just offers nothing of value except more bursting and might gain. I was looking forward to trying Warrior’s Sprint, but Burning Arrows speaks to me so much more.
The only thing odd I found about my build is that of 9 traits, 5 of them are cool down ones. I may also switch out balanced stance for dolyak sig, but I’m going to miss the extra swiftness.
Questions:
I can’t really decide between Blademaster and Deep Strike
I with my current gear I really won’t need the extra 20% crit chance, but the reduction may make me try going s/s for a bit to try that out. But, with FGJ giving out an extra 150 condi damage along with fury, might, healing power, and healing may be great party support. I was really hoping for that 10% boon duration they showed months ago, to help make up for the SoR 5sec nerf, but oh well.
I may also switch out my Fire sigil to Agony for extra bleed duration, I’m really going to miss those 12s bleeds without food buffs, so it may be worth losing that little bit of AoE damage. Sigil of Bursting, Malice, or most likely Smoldering may replace my Sigil of Rage.
Who knows, I can still hope that they add infusions with condi/boon duration in HoT.
Well, I’ll miss GS/Hammer with 00626. I will lose either Leg Specialist, or a whole lot of Defense goodies like Dogged March, Cleansing Ire and the added power from toughness.
Also, no Burst Mastery+Merciless hammer is a shame, no more Earthshaker into Arcing Slice.
Thankfully, I will be getting a kittenton of damage in return from Strength.
My GS/Sword Shield variant is also getting shrekt. 05423, and the new warrior’s sprint will render it useless against other warriors. Not to mention (movement) condi reduction flying around everywhere.
Hulk Roaming Montages/Build Vids
I always rage but never quit.
I wont miss 00626 60606 is ridiculously stronger.
I cant really speak for all of the aids cancer but from everything I saw condi warrior is going to be way stronger.

The real problems will arise with the new SPEC line.
Anyway, for me GS/Sw-Sh is getting hugely buffed in terms of damage, mobility and condi cleanse. (Flurry > 100b will be a death sentence now)
My concern is with gear stats amount and availability .

I’ve been running a power-focused Axe/[warhorn/mace] + LB with banners build for a long time. Depending on the content, it alternated between 6/5/0/0/3 w/ zerk gear and 6/0/0/6/2 w/ soldier gear. It may not have been a top-tier DPS build, but it worked well for me. It also seemed to have good support for pug groups, and it’s been a pretty solid performer for guild forays into dungeons or fractals.
With the updated traits, it looks like the build is pretty much dead since it will be losing some significant dps with the new trait placement. I’ll try out GS+LB but I’m not that fond of GW with warrior. I’ll really miss the warhorn’s speed buffs and blast finisher, or the mace’s extra vuln and Tremor attacks. If I can’t find a new build I like, I may end up playing one of my alts where the class got some major buffs instead.
A fair chunk of my support warrior got trashed:
- Banner radius and cooldown
- Warhorn no longer converts
- Boon duration dropped to zero
Losing the 20% banner cooldown really, really hurts. 30-second splits between really long cooldowns is punishing, and the old trait bridged that gap significantly. I think most of us assumed the cooldown would be changed to reflect the trait as baseline.
Comparables like Spirits max out at 20 second recovery time, so I could see banners as a fair enough compromise at 100-110 seconds.
Losing the radius is also fairly irritating, but it’s a noticeable trend in making support players ‘bunch in’ (as noted with Soothing Mist as well). A tighter, group-focused play style synergizes better, so I can understand why it was done, and it also supports better banner management. Hurts, but understandable.
Warhorn moving from convert to removal is.. acceptable? We’d obviously rather keep it, but using Warhorn for condi removal is still there, just not with the extra boon attached.
I don’t know if it’s a glitch or oversight, but warrior’s support trait line does not include a 10-20% boon duration buff like many other classes have. This goes against the design trend that trait line bonuses were going to be built into the trait line elsewhere. I rank this as possibly more hurtful than the banner nerf, since it affects all my support, including Shouts, which has taken up the support mantle even more.
(And I may be mildly miffed I don’t have 100% Swiftness uptime from warhorn, which is the whole reason I ended up with support warrior in the first place.)

My build got a super buff. Other than the loss of some armor (2600→2400) but I have all the traits I had before, and more more Condi clear, more power, and MOAR DAMAGE!!!
