Hello,

so I see all the complaining about the current GS/Hammer spec in spvp. And I’d like to think I do know the reasons. But I definitely dont know why tankier builds are even more neglected. Whats the problem with hambow, shoutbow, macebow and stuff like that?

I know that metabattle is far from being the bible of gw2, but here are some links to the builds just to give you a vague idea what I’m talking about:

So are these all useless? Or are these outshined by other professions? If so, by how much?

Greatbow and ShoutBow isn’t useless. GreatBow is good for 1vs1 dueling while ShoutBow will bring you more winrate in 5vs5 ranked arena due to its versatility of some dmg and support.

lol if you wonder GreatBow vs ShoutBow when both doesn’t run away, of course, GreatBow wins at the end becuz it is about dueling. However, if it comes like 2vs2 or 3vs3 something like that, team with ShoutBow will win.

This banner shout is way more awesome than Shoutbow, in a capture point only when the banner is on though. But I would say 1.5x~2 times tankier.

To answer your question, Many poeple have a tendency to avoid using tanky build due to they just love to DPS and actually want to kill somebody. It is generally recommended that you run GreatBow if you like to 1vs1 but run Shout build for conquest arena. If you run the build like GreatBow or GS/hammer in the 5vs5 arena, I am sure that you will have less winrate, especially when it comes to soloQ where the roles are undefined.

Nothing wrong with tanky if you have a team that can carry you.
