Would you like a flail
I would prefer two handed axes, spears (for land use), and crossbows first (and I’m not greedy either, give the rangers crossbows too).
Flail’s would be cool.
Chain: Flail Swing (1 stack of vulnerability), Flail Smash (swing over head, 1 stack of vulnerability), Flail Sweep (spin around hitting 5 nearby targets. Range on all attacks 130. 1/2 second cast time
Rib Breaker: Swing your flail hard causing 3 vulnerability. 6 second cooldown. Does more damage than auto-attack
Shin Shatter: Sweep your mace low causing 6 seconds of cripple. 12 second cool down
Flail: Swing your flail around wildly in front you hitting 5 times and cause 3 vulnerability on the last hit. 15 second cool down
Head Smash: Slam your foes head with your flail, causing 2 seconds of stun and applying 4 stacks of confusion. 25 second cool down
a halberd would be awesome
pretty big weapon too, so the developers could get a little crazy with the designs and make some pretty neat looking ones.
Any polearm. I notice MMO’s have a distinct lack in polearms.

Polearms/Halberds/Bardiches – this type of weapon would be most welcome.
It could have lower flat damage and be slower, but with 360 degree attacks. That way, it has a distinct role that doesn’t detract from existing weapons.
It could also have stronger defense than the other 2h which is something we don’t really have – a defensive 2her. We’d have the offensive 2h (GS), the CC and utility-focused 2h (Hammer), and then the defensive 2h (Polearm).
You could come up with some very creative skill designs for it. Imagine an auto-attack chain that goes: 180 degree strike -> 360 degree strike -> 360 degree strike with 1s projectile block. Could call the last movement in the chain “Arrow-cutter”, or something, in honour of the famous samurai Gochi-in Tajima who used a polearm to (supposedly) strike enemy arrows away mid-flight.

Diablo 2 wasn’t an MMO, but it’s the only game I can think of that had flails.

But i must admit i would prefer to see 2 handed axes… don’t even know why they weren’t implemented at start, since they are one of the classic weapons in almost every mmorpg out there (although i prefer a 2H sword)
Not sure this class needs another 2 handed weapon. A flail/whip with a shield would be fun.

Um. I’m new to this game and I was actually disappointed when I heard there were no two handed battleaxes! I love flails, they’re my favorite, but they are rare in games :s I guess it’s hard to animate the chain and the mace head? I’m not sure. But I would love to see the addition of flail types/halberds/twohanded axes!
Whips should be easy for them since they already have the animation for it from skills like lightning whip and skins from nightmare court.

I like the Head Cracker concept with bonus damage while confused. This could inspire a nice hybrid condi mace/shiled + flail/mace build with distracting strikes.
It would be awesome to see them as they are one of my favorite weapons. According to other game dev’s their reasoning is the animation and related problems to over come which is too involved.
I agree though that we need polearms and 2h axes as well, seeing as I doubt we’ll see flails I’d vote for 2h axes first as they are beast.
