WvW Build Help for Returning Player
Full stance warrior. Once your cooldowns are used run to the back of your zerg and wait for the cooldown timers. Here’s my build that’s got me a ton of kills and very little deaths. Essentially you engage with Rampage onto their casters, do CC + dmg then leap back to your train. During a melee push do 100blades, flurries, shield bash, final thrusts, and whirlwinds then pop invulns to get out once you start taking too much damage. Half of the fight you’ll be sitting in the back waiting on cooldowns so get used to that:

If you have the expansion use a killshot build such as this. You want to pop healing signet for resistance and pop might signet for your killshot/gunflame which makes the shot(s) unblockable:

About the hammer question, there is a lot more burst damage in zerg fights now. You need a weapon setup which has escapes if you want to do melee pushes and be 100% sure you won’t just lag behind and die after your endure pain runs out. So have greatsword and/or 1-handed sword in your build.
