For starters, this is the build. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJMQNAnXTjMdU3ZhH+dwJagggC7sHDmLgAIB0tGA-TFCEwAJOEAEOBAbVCyS9HtK/yt/QH9BAeCABAQAY72co3co3MA-w

The idea is to engage with LB to go into combat -> pop SoF for full adrenaline -> LB L3 burst -> LB#3 for Might (optional) -> A#5 in field for 15 (i think) fire bolts and adrenaline regain.

With my current crit rate, Axe trait would have been awesome for adrenaline regain but I do not know which one to go.
Please comment. Happy holidays and happy new year!

Hello,

I suppose this is for a roaming build, not a zerging one, so I’ll give you some feedback in that perspective.

Firstly, I think that your trying to make synergies between weapons is a very good thing. However, I believe that the build you have provided has many issues, which could prove fatal. Namely, it has no mobility, little condition cleansing and no stun breakers.

Mobility is, IMHO, quite important in roaming. Not only does it help you move faster across the map, but it also helps in fighting, as the warrior has no stealth nor teleports, and can only rely on superior mobility to outplay the opponent in positioning and disengaging. There are many factors to consider:

  • Weapon-based mobility, with auto-targeting disabled. With a longbow, I’d say you need either a greastsword (for #3 and #5) or a sword (for #2). With a double Axe, I’d say you need a greatsword.
  • Overall speed. Since you don’t have a warhorn, the swiftness you get is limited, all the more that it can be debuffed by opponents. Running Warrior’s Sprint can be quite beneficial here.

As for condition management, a warrior usually has lots of possibilities. Builds having a bow will definitely want Cleansing Ire, as it can trigger pretty regularly, without the need for a target. Builds using Cleansing Ire should also make sure they have decent adrenaline building capabilities, so as to maximize the burst rotation.

As for stun breakers, you at least need one. If you run a full signet build, then you should consider the signet of the Dolyak. Note that using full signets builds without Deep Strike to optimize them is a bit questionable. Most players, in WvW, rather prefer to equip stances, and possibly physical skills for control, as they offer more useful utilities in damage-oriented builds.

Axe #5 has been discussed recently in this thread. While I like the offhand axe in PvP, I have to say I’m a bit skeptical in using it in WvW: while its adrenaline building and field finisher capabilities are pretty good, its damage factor receives a 33% malus in WvW/PvE when compared to PvP, thus decreasing its overall value.

Also, I’ve been experimenting a bit with an aggressive warrior frontliner (in zerg fights), using sword+axe+hammer, but have not been able, so far, to get lots of value from it. Its biggest issue is retaliation, which opposite foes are generally full of (use Axe #5 and lose half of your HP to retaliation, unless you activate Defiant Stance).

Regards.

Thanks for the constructive feedback.

Cleansing ire is great no questin to that. However there are times that i disengage to reset but a long ticking condition like poison or bleed prevents me from reseting. I then use sigil that cleanses all conditions.

I replaced the trait slot for cleansing ire with with auto stability.

On combat mobility is still a problem and i do not have any CC. Pack rune is great but as you said they can be debuffed. Maybe change utilities for movement and CC.
