That much armor with that much attack power and such high stats for crit chance/ crit damage sounds unrealistic to me, even when i consoder zero extra vitality through your traits and items.
But that aside:
What I could imagine is, that your opponent had healing shouts to negate a lot of your inflicted damage and high condition damage, which renders your defense useless.
Which weapons did he use? had he healing signet, by chance? That could make it seem that did not inflict much damage.
Maybe 30/30 in defense and tactics with 10 points in arms and lots of condition damage through items would be what happened here.
he was using a hammer and GS so no condi damage…yes he had healing signet but than again…so did I…when I go full tank mode…I can never ever deal 4k+ damage on another heavy armor…yet these warriors somehow can?!?!

Could it be that he outplayed you? If he dodged key attacks and you didn’t then I could see this scenario playing out.
Also, while toughness is helpful against direct damage if he got consecutive crits and you didn’t then you could get killed very quickly. I know zerker thieves can still halve my warriors hp in one combo and I have over 3500 toughness and 27000 hp.
Most likely just outplayed. You need to work on warrior combos, whether ur doing a stun chain or just doing sustained damage. Every class has specific skills they chain to deal optimal damage, if your missing em no amount of stats is going to help you.
Sigil of Impact plus Merciless Hammer makes Hammer damage scale ridiculously high. The +5% damage nerf to Merciless Hammer next patch will be offset with an additional +7% (next patch I think?) from an additional Sigil of Force.
5k crits on 3k armor are entirely possible, and actually, pretty common.
It happened to me more than once after facing several fully ascended Hambows (or Hammer wielders), I just couldn’t outplay them most of the time, their pressure was ridiculously high with 3,3k AAs, 5,1k backbreakers and 4,5k earthshackers on 3k armor. I only have so many dodges blinds and such until some of their CCs lands while they regen and immune through most of what you do.
