Hulk Roaming Montages/Build Vids
I always rage but never quit.
Hello all,
Just thought I’d share my channel on the forum here. Haven’t done so before as I didn’t know wether I would really continue making vids, but I enjoy it very much so I will
It contains videos of me roaming on my warrior, solo and small group, as well as builds I use regularly. I am no high level PvP professional, so expect nothing of the sort.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyjXP92hAxOuymFGfNFvKBQ
Feedback is much appreciated, and if you would like me to try out a certain spec or help you in creating one, feel free to ask.
See you ingame!
Definitely continue making videos! Also I feel you’re being a tad humble dude, you’re quite a good warrior!

I will! Thanks for your support! Honestly though, I’ve met way better warriors then myself, but you do pick up a few things along the way ;P
“Those who know do not talk. Those who talk do not know. Keep your mouth closed. Guard your senses. Temper your sharpness. Simplify your problems. Mask your brightness. Be at one with the dust of the Earth. This is primal union, the way of the Warrior”
Smashed it bro
This is great. I love the hulk look, cracks me up. You are already very competent on the warrior and doing very well. I wanted to give a small bit of advice that really took me too long to realize how good it can be. Find a really easy to reach keybind and put stow weapon on it. Stowing those long cooldown attacks when you get blinded or see aegis pop up it can really be a game changer. It’s easy to think this is unneeded because you can still be very successful on warrior without it. I always thought it wouldn’t change much. But since I have learned to control my misses and to even bait dodges with back breaker cancels, I have been able to win fights vs people who had me on farm before. Again great fun informative videos. Please don’t think I am implying you play badly. That is not the case. But with stow weapon a beast can become a monster!

This is actually really great feedback and as such is appreciated properly
But yeah, it is one of the things I should really start focussing on to try and improve my game. I do have it on a keybind on my mouse, but it’s kind of an awkward button so I should rethink that. Using backbreaker to bait dodges then cancelling is definitely a good technique, gonna try that more as well.
Man ! I love it ! Don’t stop making videos !
Very fun, good warrior and Hulk is so cute !

Appreciate it!
How’s that “next level rage” video coming along good Sir ?
Looking forward to watching it
So timely of you to ask
It’s something new though, I hope that both newer as well as more advanced players will like it.
Hello,
I’ve just watched your last video, it’s very nice, with quite a promising format. Well done, I’ll be looking forward to the next ones! Just a slight suggestion, though: don’t hesitate to show fights happening outside of the arena, as fighting options are more limited there (kiting effectiveness reduced for both players).
I’m late discovering this thread, I’ll have to watch your other videos as well.
Cheers.
Just outstanding Cygnus well done chap. I’m calling for this and future “Hulk knows best” youtube series to be sticky on the forums as comprehensive guides for those interested in WvW or PvP.
Hulk smash
Edit .Maybe you could start a new thread for these informative guides
Well thanks for the vote of confidence! I’ll leave it at just this thread for now to shamelessly promote my channel. But if more people want this to happen I’ll be sure to look into it.

Very nice feedback, thanks!
I will definitely include duels while roaming in the future. It just so happened that I got a lot of interesting fights in which I could highlight some useful gameplay tips in arena a couple days ago. That actually sparked the idea of making this series. If there is dueling in OS, the player skill level is often pretty good as well.
However, I totally agree with you that dueling while roaming can be great too and offers different challenges. You will also be able to better predict what spec your opponent is running then when you duel in OS, as in OS opponents can adjust their builds slightly to better suit the situation (just as I did). Whereas while roaming, people will be on their roaming builds.
Thanks for the build. Used this today when I faced 2 condi stealth thieves in WvW. They absolutely had no chance at killing me.
I ran so fast while taking hits they just gave up in the end :p

Your welcome I guess? It’s true though, unless you can down one of them very quickly or they are just terribads, you will always lose against 2 p/d condi thieves. Good thing they have less mobility then other thief specs and you can reset almost as well as they can.
In a 1v1, you stand a decent chance. Still, P/D just has so much sustain and reset capability, anything that doesn’t end up with you dying is pretty much a win.
Great work Cygnus! For a player like me who never played another class it’s very helpful to learn more about opponent’s actions, what animation to look for, when to dodge etc. You could consider commenting your fights by voice and thus provide even more insight.
You do a great job at managing a lot of informations simultaneously, something that requires a lot of experience and awareness. If I try to watch for important animations, I will always lose sight of something else that is important like enemy buffs, conditions on me, my own cooldowns or good positioning. Do you have routines like checking your conditions every X seconds or so?

Glad you like it, thanks for the compliments!
I never thought about it like that, the routine thing, but I guess I do. A lot of my actions come from predictions I make based on experiences I had in the past fighting similar foes. Stuff like stability or aegis on my target and poison or blinds on myself definitely get more attention during fights too.
I do still have a long way to go regarding animations. You generally get a good knowledge of animations of the classes you encounter regularly while roaming, so whenever I fight something like a necro, you will see me dodge randomly a lot. Good thing they are vulnerable to cc
But managing stuff like buffs and conditions is very crucial to fighting as a warrior. I think warrior depth does not come from the way the class is built, but rather from the way other classes are built and the way they can counter you very hard if you don’t pay attention to these things.
Hulk knows best series looks like it could be really interesting to look up for. The first video was a great and it’s always fun to watch good GS/Hammer warriors bait and wreck thieves and mesmers.
Now that I realized we are against each other I need to come and look you up in OS or on the field. Beware for the Pink Candy Cane.

Sounds good
On a sidenote, I’ve uploaded a new vid to show the new Stronghold PvP:
Been a while, but i just finished the second build video for my channel. Also contains a bit of roaming, so I hope you guys enjoy!
Nice video, glad to see you playing sword+shield/greatsword, as this is my current favorite roaming setup, for the swift gameplay it induces. I’ve built differently than you did though, using more defense (rousing resilience, brawler’s recovery, mobile strikes), and testing the sigil of incapacitation. I will play your version and see how it fares for me.
Your choice of food is interesting. When making my own build, I also looked around for some food with increased condition duration, but they looked so expensive to make that I’ve delayed their acquisition. I guess I’ll look into it more now, since you’re giving such a positive feedback.
Thanks for the video!

I think your version will become more powerful when the next big balance patch hits, as rousing resillience gets buffed and you get mobile strikes and Sprint in 1 trait (opening up DotE). The thing I don’t like about RR though, is that it does absolutely nothing for you for 4 seconds when you break a stun with Endure Pain. I’d say it would work better with Shake It Off.
As my current setup uses 4 traitlines, this specific build will be dead after the patch. I will probably use STR/DEF/DIS, as Arms and Tactics will offer mediocre traits for this spec. STR/TAC/DIS might also be good with different sources of condi-removal. For now though, I really like this set-up.
I also used to be a little apprehensive when it came to using expensive foods, but I started to not care anymore. This food compliments the build so well that I couldn’t resist, you should definitely try it.
The sigil of incapacitation is not worth it IMO, because you already have a cripple on bladetrail with GS. Too often will the immobilise proc when you didn’t plan to combo, which also makes you fail your combo when you do expect it to proc.
And I just can’t get over how funny AirFire is
Nice vids.
For GS/Sw, I would go 6 in defense to get Deflecting Missiles and you get Armored Attack by the way, thats +170 power.
I don’t think Leg Specialist that important for a GS/Sw set, you already got great mobility to stay in your enemy face most of the time unlike Hammer builds which it is so important there.
But anyway since you use +condi duration foods it might turn great, used to mess with such a thing with +100% condi duration, basically 2s immobilize for Leg Specialist & 8s from Flurry, combined with Sigil of Incapacitation & you got a bad day for your opponent but still the laugh would wear off fast and I’m back to full power builds.

I used to take 6 in Defense, but got a bit bored. Missile Deflection is nice and I do use it from time to time instead of DM, but the shield block is on a long duration so I find it to be very situational.
Leg Specialist actually opens up a lot of little combo’s, so I wouldn’t go without it (by choice). 100% condi duration, while funny, really is overkill.
Nonetheless, you are the authority on this spec, so thanks for the advice

next update there will be no Leg Specialist for you
And since we would pick Shield Mastery over dogged march also because Condi duration removed from trait lines, add brawler’s recovery, mending and we might drop Hoelbrak and even lemongrass food and go Strength runes.

Oh yes, lots of stuff happening. I think Str/Def/Dis will be incredibly strong. However, Str/Tac/Dis might work for Sword/GS.
It is too early to tell.
I can tell you though, the buff to warrior’s sprint is going to hardcounter this build.

Been a while since my last video, but I managed to finish it just before the big patch tomorrow. It’s a roaming montage, containing what will probably be my last combat footage pre-patch.
Hope you guys enjoy, and see you in the new world
