Zerker Build for PvE and Dungeons
Your standard 100% dps spec will be 30/25/0/0/15. In Strength, replace traits X and XII with IX and XI. I don’t know if you made a mistake with choosing Berserker’s Might (XII) over Berserker’s Power (XI), but trait XI is incredible to have. In Arms, take traits V and X. For Discipline, IMO, it’s sort of a toss-up depending on your utilities and what you need. I tend to use trait III whenever I skip mobs in dungeons and switch to IV before attacking so I can get my adrenaline up faster.
For weapons, you’re going to go axe/mace and greatsword. Since you already can comfortably play in full zerker, go with scholar runes to boost your dps even higher. Sigils would include force, night and bloodlust. Get 25 stacks of bloodlust and immediately swap that weapon out for an equivalent that has force or night on it. Using the night sigil will obviously depend on what instance you’d be running but couple it with an instance-specific sigil and you’ll feel like a one-man wrecking ball.
In regards to trinkets, from what I remember, I saw a small but noticeable damage increase when going from full exotic to full ascended. It’s not going to kill you to not have ascended trinkets but if you want to squeeze out as much damage as possible, you’d probably want to get them.
I might have missed a thing or two but aside from that, you’re good to go.
Thanks for the reply and advice Sugoi. I am working on getting full ascended trinkets but with time gating on laurels it’s a slow process.
I’m not sure which Ascended pieces you are working on but Ascended rings are easier to get if you run fractals often (at least dailies), Accessories through Guild missions, and spend Laurels for neck.
There is an Alternate Axe/Mace+Axe/Sword build using the same 30/25/0/0/15 that has higher potential damage.

It explains both build. I have a preference to the Axe build, but I still have a GS now and then or to just help with trash skipping.
Thank you! Do you recommend bringing any ranged weapons to dungeons or fractals?
If you have to range, use a Longbow. If you don’t absolutely have to range, don’t.
I don’t generally do much PVE content. Out of curiosity, do you use the same build for the zergy stuff like the Nightmare Within? It seems like so much random stuff is going on in there that it would be difficult to be glass. (As opposed to the predictability organized group of dungeon runs.)
The more people taking defensive gear in zergs the worse it gets. Scaling is screwed up and with 90% of people hitting like a wet noodle its no wonder they take so long to kill anything. Also being glassy in a zerg is completely safe. You have 100s of meatshields and 100s of people ready to revive you in an instant. Use healing signet, i believe that counters toxin pretty well.
I did the nightmare within stuff yesterday with the same build. For the trash running part I changed from fighting utilities to running utilities. I’m sure it would be easier with a defensive build to run the trash, but why bother when it’s easy with a glass cannon build already.
Thanks, yesterday I used glass gear, but did not respec (just changed traits selection a little). I’ll try respecing and see how it goes
“The more people taking defensive gear in zergs the worse it gets. "
Worse for the zerg, the better for player. Players are selfish so they take defensive gear in zergs. If you want to reduce your survivability by 25% for the zerg to take the boss down 1% faster then that’s your choice.

If you really wanted to go selfish you would run full zerker and afk range the boss from a safe distance. Carrying a second set of gear for that is both inefficient and undignified.

That’s actually what pros do and I would also like to add that I do that as well.

I thought you used embers only?
